Nope, there never was one, unfortunately.

Probably moribund, this is a fascinating look at what might have been. And it was and is, of course, the first sim with streaming orthos. (Google Earth)

Bring your sense of humor…

I played it. It is very short but fun.
The only DLC is a toilet brush.

This game also features PVP with other players, but as in just about every VR game of this sort, finding enough (or any) other players can be a problem. Fortunately, you can also have fun against AI vessels.

OK! The skinny on this game is that you will get an empty black screen if trying to play this on an Oculus

  • To fix this, you must go into your Steam/Steamapps/Common/Nick folder, then right click Nick.exe

  • -go into properties- compatibility -run in compatibility mode - pick win 7 - save

Done! This is a fun game!!

I consider this an odd one, and in truth, I had avoided presenting it for weeks after I first saw it, because to me it looks and seems stupid. (No, I have not tried it)

But…

It’s now one of the top, if not the top Free VR game on steam, and everywhere I go in VR circles, people are talking about it…

So what do I know…?

NOTE: WATCH OUT FOR YOUR FURNITURE!! PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WEB ARE BREAKING THINGS!

This is… a tough one. Absolutely stunningly great game. (I think) But the little gurl activated every single one of my protective instincts, and if you steer her wrong, both you and her can suffer some particularly gruesome deaths. More than enough incentive to get it right, and much chagrin and possibly guilt when (not if) you get it wrong.

Finally tried Powder VR this morning.
I have been missing skiing vacation, especially when we had snow a few weeks ago. When I stumbled across your post, I bookmarked it to try during my staycation.
I started with pairing my controllers and setting up the visible edge of the play area. First time non-cockpit VR in a loong time.

The tutorial is solid.
I got off to a good start, pushing myself forward with the poles, but then as soon as I picked up speed and made a turn, my head just went:

Bird No GIF

Breathing heavily, I collapsed onto all fours, pushing the VR set off my face. I’m glad I had that play area fence in VR so I didn’t hit anything or land awkwardly, but man…

Took a few hours to recover and I’m not sure if I should even fly the Mi-8 today. Was planning to continue the campaign in preparation for the Mi-24

Of course, there is a setting to reduce peripheral vision when not standing still to reduce nausea, and I should have ticked that. Not sure when I’ll have the balls to try again though

Wow. I’ve never had a reaction that bad. The only game that even made me a little sick was Hellblade, and that was only after several hours.

Hope you feel better, and that this doesn’t put you off of trying other things in VR! :crying_cat_face:

Others afraid of a similar experience might want to test themselves with something like this:

Thank you!
There was no vomiting, just an imminent need to lie down! It’s better now, after a short ā€œcalibrationā€

I did enjoy that gladiator game in VR a while ago, but something about continuous movement while standing is a bit much for me. No problem, there’s enough sitting/standing VR games to enjoy myself. I still haven’t even tried MSFS in VR
