2,000 lbs. of fuel is about what I land with in our dinky Citation…that can’t be much for a Vulcan…!

If the wiki specs are correct then it should be about 15 minutes of cruise power when on 4 engines. So erm, not exactly useful for a go around when you need take-off thrust. They would have been able to climb up a bit and allow the non-ejection seat members to toss themselves out I suppose. Perhaps even shut-down 2 engines to get away from civilization and ensure a good smash?

Ugh. That feeling when you are running on fumes is not good. Dwindling options leaves a sickening feeling in your stomach (know that one from experience). Bet they had a good drink and dinner that night…
