It is a lovely tree and wasn’t harmed. 
This was a deadfall branch that had come down sometime ago in the wind and demolished the fencing.
I do need to tidy up where it’s broken off at some point, to prevent the rot going back into the main trunk.

How large is your property? Aren’t those dead branches a fire hazard?

The tree is in a wooded area of around 7 acres. It’s tricky working it as it’s two steep banked sides with a stream running through, so unable to get the tractor up. I’ll be removing the wood in the summer, via the neighbours fields and drop them some wood off for the trouble.

Usually if we have more than 4 consecutive sunny days, that constitutes summer.
Having said that, we’ve just had our first rain in 2 weeks, badly needed as the spring grass had yet to sprout and the grazing was looking very short.

I have managed to make my wife think it’s her idea I should have a computer games room in our new extension plans. Going well so far, I have a 3m X 1.7m allocation. Should be big enough for my VR set-up

Mudspike is a wonderful source of inspiration. @Cib commented on his proposed simpit within his new extension being approved by his wife. This morning I was bad. I went onto our bedroom balcony with my wife. I could tell she had an idea. Our house has a semi enclosed balcony upstairs with open arches.
Felicity was thinking that if we glazed the openings in we could make use of a largely unused space turning it into another small room or as an extension of the bedroom. All it is used for really is a place for me to sling my hammock in and read books. I took the idea further.
It would make a great place for my sim. After all as I pointed out to her, she has often commented that DCS has taken over the study downstairs.
