Well Done! A "pat on your back" thread!

You’re a Boss. Capital B.

Wow. That sort of problem would drive me to a gibbering mess in an hour or so.

I’m in awe that anyone knows what all that stuff does. And even greater awe that when it breaks, you know how to find and fix it. I’d just throw my hands up, sell the building, and move to a new one.

Damn…another project where I’d feel overwhelmed from the start. It doesn’t help that I’ve built IKEA things that I’ve had to take entirely apart because I didn’t read the assembly directions correctly. Did you work according to a plan or was it kind of make it up as you go along?

We are very much of the Bob Ross school of gardening: it’s all a series of happy little accidents. Bossman is like an artist, he sees the place, sees the materials and then makes up a vague outline of a plan and then it all just happens.

For small to medium projects this approach works beautifully and is a very fun way to work. On large projects it leads to horrible overturns, moneypits and double or even triple work as things get turned down by the inspection.

For schoolyards there are about 1500 pages of rules to contend with, and that tends to butt up against our anarchic way of creating. Strangely preschool playgrounds are less stringently controlled. And of course private yards are a free canvas.

Some day I will not forget to make before/after pictures.

Well done mate. That sounds like a truly beautiful piece of work and I bet there are some little smiling faces there this morning! A noble weekends work

Every year for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, my brothers and I rewrite the lyrics to a song for them and then perform it live (can’t really call it real singing, but we do the instruments too).
This year, I wasn’t there as I don’t live with them and stay home and try to keep old people alive etc.

So I thought I’d record the backing karaoke track.
Pro: didn’t worry about the lyrics so I actually gave my brothers a chance to write most of it last minute.
Had a lot of fun building up all the layers of Uptown Funk.
Con: It took A LOT more effort than just learning the song and writing the lyrics. There was a small delay I had to drag away manually and many parts to play on guitar and bass, and too many drum fills that were hard to figure out.

I did it though, took me five half days but the result was passable, and fairly complete.

Today I sheared our four adult sheep, including our ram, he’s the big lump on the other side of the gate.

I wasn’t the fastest and don’t think I have a future career in shearing, however it was satisfying and the sheep seem happier without their winter coat.

If us people are stuck with DIY “COVID-Cuts” for our hair, why should the animals get special treatment?

My wife is a dog groomer… she cuts my hair with the dog clippers. If I’m good I get a biscuit at the end

Well if you see me around you recognize me immediately as I have a little steering wheel hanging between my legs.
Why?
My wife is driving me nuts. (works better pronounced with a British accent, ta!)

That looks like a # 4 on the top and a # 3 everywhere else  Most humorous is that the ram is taking interest in your latest customer.
