This was one of my first if not THE first 8 track tape I ever bought ā¦
I never really understood ZZ Top until I saw that Netflix special though. I think I bought the tape because it looked cool and I LOVED concert performances back in the day.
Itās funny that the drummer Frank Beard is the only one without a beard LOL!

Thanks saghen. I punched a cone last night and was approaching cruise altitude when I posted that LOL! āSweet Leafā is exactly the kind of song that you think of when youāre getting amped up on the titleās subject matter. 
Anyway, my mom used to take my sister and I grocery shopping so while I was in the store they had a 45 rpm record display and for some reason I bought Y.M.C.A. by the Village People ha ha! First record! I forget what was on the B side.

A friend of mine in high school actually had a RECORDABLE 8 track tape player! Used to love going over to his place to record his albums for free except for the cost of a blank 8 track.

It has a built in suction system that literally sucks the record perfectly flat onto the turntable. A guy after my own heart. Iāve always been an audiophile tourist.

I like both a lot! Ruckerās isā¦ smoother, and his voice is phenomenal. The original one from OCMS is moreā¦ quirky andā¦ bluegrassy.
I keep both in my play lists, it depends on my mood which version I prefer.

I like this one for modern country. 
I grew up in the studio of the country station in Charlotte in the '80ās and '90ās, so I have pretty strong opinions about the genre and the direction itās gone in over the last couple of decades (shocking, Iām sure 
).
I AM however a huge fan of whatās now being called āAmericana/ Folkā - thereās a lot of that here in North Carolina that weāre pretty proud of.

Honky-tonk Badonkadonk is probably one of the worst songs ever written.
As for Toby Keith: IMO he is often right between the categories ācheesy but funny enough to be fineā and ācringy trashā. I like āBeer for my Horsesā (with good old Willie!) and āI love this barā for example, but many of his songs are just dire.

Sometimes I am surprised by artists. So far I have not heard a single Florida Georgia Line song that I liked. Perhaps that will change tonight!
