But since you are capable of FTL travel, does that make age irrelevant? Regards to Lida.
I’m fairly sure I used to be the youngest here, but I joined almost a decade ago.
Surely we’ve had someone else take that title in the meantime? Any twenty-somethings here?
(Perhaps not in the movies thread though. I wasn’t reading this one either, no offense)
Hey, somebody start a “What We TicTok-ing–Mudspike Celebrates Zoomers” thread!
What’s Tick Tock? Does not compute.
I know I am behind a bit since they came out in 2022 but I just binge watched all 9 episodes of season one of Tulsa King yesterday on Amazon Prime video. I went in not expecting much but I have to say that Stallone put together a solid cast for this series and I only wish that season 2 was available somewhere other than Paramount+.

I quite liked the first season… some of Stallone’s better work (he is an under rated actor IMHO - loved him in Copland).
I didn’t know about the 2nd season. Paramount+ might (or might not?) be problematic for me as well!
I said some unkind things about Shogun a couple of weeks ago. Mainly I misunderstood my wife’s initial reluctance to watch as her seeing it as inaccurate from a Japanese perspective. Turns out she just didn’t quite follow the story initially (nor did I). So we gave it up for other distractions. Now we’ve given it the attention it deserves. I feel like such an a**! What an achievement! It’s everything one could want from a show with a massive budget. I’ll put it up there with The Sopranos, Breaking Bad and, more recently, Succession. Watching this with my wife and trying to repeat some of the Japanese will be TV experience I will remember years from now.
Hehehe I think nobody here would think any less of you. Everyone can have a lapse of judgement.
Glad you like it- I am at chapter 8 and I dread the idea of reaching the end already…
At least it seems like a second season is incoming.
Found Speed Racer on Amazon Prime. I remember watching it in the early 1970’s because I thought the Mach 5 was a cool looking car. I even had one, possibly two, Hot Wheels Mach 5 cars.
Even had I seen it at the time I would have never made the connection. The Mach 5 speedometer is in km/h so when he is going 200 he is only going around 120 mph. Even in 1967 when this was aired the cars in the Nascar racing series were capable of running in the 180 to 190 mph range or over 300 km/h.
Dad’s 1967 Plymouth Belvedere and 1970 Ford Torino fastback production cars would go over 120 mph.
I also just noticed what I would consider an error in one of the gauges. Anyone else see it?

RPN instead of RPM, I guess.
