I airlined into Burbank yesterday.

I lived in Burbank for quite a few weeks when I was doing IT work for Disney. I LOVE LA! We always flew into LAX though.

Scored a new item for my cave today! … Somebody actually threw this big old chair in the trash! …

I actually found that coffee table, foot stool/chest and lamp in the trash as well ha ha! I’m a bit of a picker to put it mildly. Most of my stuff I find here and there. Reduce, reuse, recycle I say!

Wow nice find Elby
I spent a good chunk time in my youth at our local dump. A great place for find building materials for our forts and other odds and ends. Of course dumps in the 70’s are way different than todays dumps.
One day we dragged home the front end a small wooden boat that had been cut in half. We attached a back piece and away we sailed on our local slough. Where we had our underground fort built out of dump materials such as the roof which consisted of doors we dragged from the dump and covered in dirt. Our fort was built into the top of a hill of a dug-out so we had a good view.

Lived in Southern California since 1979 and I have yet to see the Hollywood sign in person. Never think about it when I am in the area either.

Hey, as a poor kid living in the suburbs, it was the only way I could score cool stuff lol! I didn’t have the luxury of a dump which had me riding around neighborhoods on my bike checking out roadside items and dumpsters. Did pretty good for myself I must say!

Ya bikes were crucial to our endeavors as well, in our small town community. Our dump was probably a kilometer out of town. And there we are dragging, doors, boats, etc back into town lol
