4 flights, one nearly sick passenger brought down in the nick of time (i made a rookie mistake and forgot to check the sick bag pocket
)
Windy as hell and gusting right up to the limits but brightened up and even became sunny.
A challenging but very fun day ![]()
Always carry one in your kneeboard. First aid tins work when I made the same mistake with a passenger
Perils of ones parents getting older. At Urgent care with pops.

Well some new signage has appeared on my station
It now amazes me on how much effort we go to telling people that things are dangerous and they might get killed, when it is bloody obvious… as far as I know we in the uk are the only ones in the world that have a completely fenced off rail network. And yet we still have to tell people that they shouldn’t go on the track.
After Sept 15th 1830 there is no excuse for being struck by a train. A lot of people are stupid.
First Fatalities | History Today.
For anyone wondering after my last post. It was a UTI this time.
Something unusual for this time of year in SoCal, rain.

Graz BigBand Workshop closing concert, first time I got to play the György-Ligety-Hall of the MUMUTH building.
No photo unfortunately, but saw a P38 Lightning flying pretty low overhead, today. Or rather, I heard it first, man those superchargers are loud!! Really made my, otherwise boring day, of painting the house.
I wonder where it was going ![]()
Kitchen, bathrooms finally going in, as well as the concrete pad for heat pump hot water. Just a few more weeks of camping at the in-laws.
Hnngghnnnh that kitchen looks good man! Put my crew on a plane, we do some landscaping around that place to make outside look as good as inside ![]()
Wow, that kitchen is amazing! All those rounded corners … what is that, teak?
I’d love that
It’s going to be a long process for me to do up the section…it’s around 870 sqm of overgrown noxious weeds, old burned and buried household rubbish, inadequate / failed drainage…all the things that come with old houses that haven’t been quite looked after for a decade or so. I will not be short of things to do in the garden for a long time.
@elby It’s crown-cut oak veneer, except for the tall fridge corner, which is a piece of solid oak that was rounded with a massive roundover bit - basically a huge router bit on a commercial cutter table. The owner of the cabinet maker shop had to buy a bit specifically for the job!
(he didn’t mind, he said it’ll come in handy in future jobs)
The idea behind the kitchen style was to have a mid-century modern feel, as the house was previously extended / renovated in the 60’s and my wife and I both like the style. We have bought a few pieces of furniture from the era over the years so it should go together quite well. It’ll be a fair amount of exposed wood all around, as the floors are a mix of NZ hardwoods…but I didn’t have a choice: you can’t harvest those new anymore, so having it there and not showing it would be a crime.
Your view is as good as @Troll’s!
Last day of my son’s visit, so we all headed into Gatlinburg to visit the Anakeesta park.
The weather was nice and the rain held off.
Scattered throughout the park are several Lego statues.
They have a cool suspended walk though the trees.
And just outside of home, some lines of storms rolled in.
Hmmm… Gatlinburg…
Well, it was Gatlinburg in mid-July
And I just hit town and my throat was dry
Thought I’d stop and have myself a brew
At an old saloon on a street of mud
There at a table, dealing stud
Sat the dirty, mangy dog that named me Sue
That was on our driving playlist!!
The song is still pretty accurate for Gatlinburg even now. Except for Dollywood- that place is magical.
