My hands are numb
Same here … my in car thermometer was reading -8c at 6 this morning when I arrive at the station
I had to locate a puncture this morning and as fast as i was dribbling water onto the wheel, it was freezing and blocking the leak.
My hand stuck to the alloy wheel briefly as well which is a first
Ouch … be careful with sub zero metal …
I had to stop work. Can’t build things in this cold. Can’t dig, concrete can’t set.
When I lived in the Midwest 40 degrees Fahrenheit would have been a mild winter day. After having lived in California for over forty years I am freezing.

This is an annual thing up North of the border.
0°C in the fall = ungodly cold.
0°C in the spring = it’s basically summer!
No snow here but frosty. Below 0° since Sunday evening, nights around -6° to -8°C, days -1°C to -4°C
It’s nice to arrive a t work not drenched in sweat for once xD
Same here basically.
Only problem is that we have mountains here in the south, and some people get nervous when there is snow on the streets and the road is uphill, and they start to slide just a little bit.
The result is traffic jams because people crawl along for no reason.
EDIT: Or the exact opposite: “why drive slow, I have driving assistant systems and winter tyres” → crash → traffic jam.
It has been unseasonably cold here (this is our summer remember).
For the past week, our maximum temps have been what we normally see for a minimum - about 15c
Our minimums have been in the low single digits and we had a frost yesterday morning (it got down to 0c overnight). I had the fire going. That is the first time I have had to do that in December… ever.
Well that is ahead of us, at least. We have “My car has all/4 wheel drive, so I don’t need winter tires!” who then ends up in the ditch.
I have AWD on my SUV and I absolutley LOVE my BF Goodrich Advantage T/A Sport LT ALL WEATHER (not winter) tires. I run them all year. Got them a few years ago and still have great tread depth. They’re even winter rated (legal) for Quebec!
Fun in the snow storm today up here in Toronto.
Cold is mainly matter of warm clothing. Here in Finland we consider -9°C a nice cycling weather
Just returned from a small 11km spin on snowy trails and bicycle roads through forest and city.
Cue for the standard joke about how y’all in Finland consider closing outdoor pools when temperatures fall below -10°C while some guy in California freezes to death at +10°C
I don’t like where I am right now. But I like where I am going, at home, hiding, and getting right for the new year ahead!
THIS IS ON MY SCREEN AT THE OFFICE. LETS GO!!! the start of gotBurner's Winter time-off Mental Well Being Break!
Got a little bit of snow at work today. Just 5km south - nothing.
Maybe some snowfall tonight but next week looks like rain and up to 9°C
Yeah, the typical “Weihnachtstauwetter” is upon us. Should get colder after the 26th.
Stauwetter oder Sauwetter?
The latter
Also known as Niederrheinisches Dreckswetter, Kackwetter, Schietwetter usw
Sobek was talking about Tauwetter though
