I knew there had to be a reason why I like that guy…! ![]()
TBH I’d like the guy no less if he was named Carl ![]()
Hell yeah, reward yourself. It’s cheat day isn’t it?
I’m about to make an insanely good meal. ![]()
Pan seared scallops…filet medallions…street corn and some bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar… And a bottle of wine…
Is that what they call “Surf and Turf”? Looks majestic. Well done!
Self care for the win! Looks delicious!
Impressive!
What was the 1st biggest climb?
It was supposed to be a circular route with a lovely 20 mile descent, however due to a road closure we had to climb back up the descent.
Baking hot as well. All good training. Today is an easier day, still has 5000ft of climb.
Nice truck!
It has been a dozen years or so, but last time I was in Hawaii the Hilton Village in Honolulu mixed a pretty good Mai Tai ![]()
Just arrived at Honolulu this afternoon. I’m sure there is a Mai Tai with my name on it down there somewhere.
It’s a 2016 model with just under 17,000 miles on it. Wasn’t sure how reliable it was going to be since the factory engine dropped a valve and trashed itself about 6 months after we bought it and before it even had 1,600 miles on it.
Now for the cautionary tale should anyone else find themselves in such an unfortunate situation in the future. Even if you have the full factory warranty, as I did, make certain to get it in writing how they intend to fix the problem. Having never had a vehicle blow its motor I took the dealership’s word that the engine would be replaced with a Factory NEW motor since the engine was so new and the engine damage was caused by a factory defect. It took FOUR months for the work to be completed and when they told me it was ready all I wanted to do was sign the paperwork and get the truck back.
Now if I was one of those individuals that throws away the service tickets as soon as I get home I would have been none the wiser to their shenanigans. What they had done instead of giving me a factory new motor as I had been told was to give me a refurbished motor instead. Wish I could say I caught the discrepancy at that time but it was a couple of years later and well after I had any recourse. Now finding out that I got a refurbished engine was bad enough but I also found out that the refurbished engine was rated at 20 fewer horse power than the original engine and a full 40 horse power fewer than the engine I had been told was going to be my factory new replacement engine.
