yesterday I saw 4 DC3’s in D-day stripes circling round North Weald, by the time i got my camera out they had disappeared behind a house

Speaking of DC3s I saw a news article about the Band of Brothers cast training to do the memorial jump this year. Wouldn’t be surprised if they’ll be riding one of those 4 in the next couple of weeks.

I have now been told by Fliss it wasnt a DDay rehersal. They are going to display like that at some airshows.
I am thinking of a solo trip to Austria in Sept. Supposedly the biggest European airshow in 2024. Snag is Fliss and I are going to Bruck in der Oberpfalz to meet up with the Black Angels two weeks before Austria. We have a visit to a US helo base - Kattebach Kasserne as part of the trip, and the Messerschmidt museum/collection.

Two of my friends are crew on one of them. Left from FL at the end of Sun N Fun for NY, then on to Newfoundland, across the pond stopping every 8 hours, and now flying all over there. They’re having the time of their lives.

We were told it is a one off. It won the IBCC photo competition. The Lancaster is Just Jane at East Kirby airfield where it is being restored to flying condition.
I will be making enquiries about getting a copy made, or two or three @Troll @BeachAV8R
