Where Are You Photos [2025]

It was on a concrete pad, must have been over 40 laid on it as it was burning my back. Definitely sailed a bit too close as i started shivering at one point and felt freezing cold, so jumped in the van with the AC on an drank a 2 l bottle of water to cool down. Its absolutely brutal out there today.

We were supposed to go camping tonight but I’ve cancelled the show as its not fair on the kids.

Yes it was over 40’c in the direct sun … put the station thermometer outside again today, it peaked at 42’c with about 10% humidity, not too sure on the accuracy … but it was bloody hot, then throw in the absorbed heat from the concrete pad and throwing big ass tyres around, thats a sure fire way of heat stroke, drink plenty (of water ) tonight and take it easy mate

I’m not a gardener at all, so I’m very happy that my plan to have a meadow with some flowers worked out! Looks wild

That looks excellent mate. Now refrain from mowing it for as long as you can. Preferably until autumn. Give the little creatures time to lay their eggs and your herbs to spread their seed. It may look messy, but jungles do. Life does. I love that pic man <3

I see at least six different plant species there. Means there’s more than likely triple that. Diversity of species is a richness of a special kind. It allows more and rarer kinds of life to exist. That rare herb will only thrive next to this flower and that herb. It will feed an insect that perhaps also happens to be the favourite prey of a beastie that sings rhe most beautiful song in the morning. See how it goes?

A jungle garden is a thriving melting pot of life. A lawn is a single species desert.

One of our passenger gates at the station failed last night, the engineer had to replace a gear from the motor

Interesting to see that people pushing through could eventually fatigue and sheer a 1/2 inch solid

Wow! Those fractures seem to go the wrong way to how I’d expect. When a pin shears on a machine, its always (or very nearly always a striation that has a single direction of travel, normally at an offset to the motion of travel on the ram itself, showing where the tight point of failure is. That just looks a mess

Yep… certainly a strange fracture face, also dips in towards the center the only thing I can put it down to, is it’s a very soft steel alloy

With the increasing number of heat waves these days in Europe and the UK, I am surprised that AC is not in almost every home by now.

Slightly different problem here in Japan with our heatwaves. Most people have AC but a lot refuse to use it. Electric bills tend to get high due to poor insulation in the homes here.

That cv8 is a thing of beauty. I miss mine every day @miRage

It would give up a lot before I would do without AC. I’m spoiled I guess. It amazes me that people actually survived in Texas before having AC!

OMG A Bearcat!!!

That’s a bucket list item for me. A radial engine with a huge prop and tiny wings, that could beat any jet up to the F-4 Phantom in a climb. Absolutely insane machine!
