I mean… why not? ![]()
Welcome to the new thread for the new year.
”Todd”?
I never knew…
That’s the government name, the babylon name. True name be Chad of course.

Anyway. On sunday we had Kigami Biraki, the dojo’s new year opening. A fun happening for every member of the club. Sadly only about half showed up, but it was still very fun!
This is just institutional torture to make sure us monkeys can still read I think.
The pressure can be just as crushing…
So strange to see other simulators. ![]()
Me and @Sryan in the Maastricht convention centre today. There’s a neat bit of tech in the background, but it has no wings and despite having a piston engine, no propeller, so I have no idea what it is. There were many like it, some old, some new and many many people looking at them the same way I looked at the U-2R last summer.
Objection! It is only mounted upside down.
I had a really great time too
It was amazing to meet Schurem. the best part was probably when we were discussing our sim pits, and I mentioned I have some 0.787m^2 to sim on. Then, he had all these great ideas on how to improve it using DIY. I guess I should actually give it a go.
After two weeks in Houston. I am now once again qualified in the plane I flew for 24 years and have 5,000 hours in.

Back in London at head office again, but this time for a job interview … hopefully instead of running a station I will be out and around fixing problems with ticket machines
Best of luck! ![]()
Good luck lee! We all hope you smash it mate ![]()
And on the plus side - machines are (generally) easier to deal with than people.
At least now when you ‘punch’ a machine because of the job, you won’t get arrested ![]()
So. How did it go? Got a good feeling about it?
Don’t know … the fire alarm in the building went off halfway through and I spent about 45 minutes outside the building chatting to one of the interviewers ( the one who’s department it is, not the other one who was from HR) that went well, so who knows they use those psychometric tests and this is only the second interview that I have done in 25 years, but today is the last three interviews, so should know soonish
I just did a very quick trip to Victoria, BC. You don’t usually see a Turbo Otter on floats when looking out your hotel room window.
Or a Twin Otter on floats…
While getting ready to depart, a Convair CV-580 took off.
On our way to L.A. we had a great view of Mt Rainier, with Mt Adams in the background.
Mt Rainier..
What is left of Mt St Helens.
I don’t get to fly up to the Pacific Northwest very often, so this was a real treat (certainly beats Teterboro!)…
