lol! That was cool Freak. Good to see/hear fellow mudders. I always thought schurem drove a 1996 Plymouth, four door. Ya I dream I had some time ago, schurem driving a Plymouth. Weird, but true

In all the years I have been flying to Hawaii, this was my first chance to visit the USS Arizona Memorial.

Unfortunately the water was very murky today and there wasn’t a good view of the ship’s structure. Still, I’m glad I made the trip.

heading to the Air Museum on Ford Island next.

I visited when I spent some time there in '93. On the day there was a mild breeze and the water was a bit choppy, but there was an eerie stillness on the memorial.

I visited there in 2012 or 13 during a visit to PACOM. There were still bullet holes and marks on the tarmac from the Japanese strafing.

Went to the Ford Island aviation museum back in 2023 I think. Didn’t see (but wasn’t searching for) the tarmac bullet holes but did see the ones in the glass on the hangar doors. Also hugged a Tomcat.

Thanks for Sharing them (like I gave you a choice, lol) The '6 is Huge, I had not idea how big it is when compared to the Thud and the Phantom. Beautiful pics man.

Enjoy the day, get some good local food. If you can afford it! We dont feel sorry for you btw.

Beautiful colors.

I’m guessing that you are referring to the Crimson Rosella (Platycercus elegans) and not the Magpie… My favourite Aussie bird BTW.

Yes one of the more colourful native parrots we see regularly, but I am playing with my new lens and experimenting with depth of field at the moment.

Mid-Winter here and the lighting is not the best at this time of year. Coincidentally nearly the same latitude, but South of the equator, where you live… 35 degrees, so about the same (but reversed) daylight hours you get.

Yes. I was kicking around the idea of grabbing a crew-member to go out and do bounce-and-gos to regain night currency in the Citation (you need 3 night t/o and landings every 90 days to stay current as a PIC)..but then looked up the time. You have to go one hour after sunset…which would have made it near 10PM for us to go do that. Nah..I’m good. LOL…just won’t fly that plane at night for awhile (I’ve flown it twice in 6 months..not ideal..)…

I wish there was a way to simulate “bird vision” so we could see how their plumage looks with UV.
