Love the pics Harry. Here in Manitoba we are experiencing Temps in the upper 30s Celsius with many areas declaring a state of emergency due to flooding. Yikes

We have had a run of wet weather lately, just light drizzle and not enough really. But I love mornings like that. The sun starts to rise and lifts the moisture, you know it is going to be a fine day once it burns off.
We are looking after a neighbours horses while they are away for a couple of months and that was on the way back from giving them their morning feed. Actually quicker to walk and take a x-country shortcut than drive. The photo of the track is about halfway along our ‘driveway’… it is a bit over a kilometer from the house to the road.

Comet 1 with original square windows. Photo taken of original tests on actual aircraft that proved the failure. Airframe was repeteadly pressurised in a water tank.

The Horsa Glider had the same diameter fuselage as the Comet, so one was fitted with a Comet windscreen to test flight in icing.

Dragon Rapide was the first aircraft I flew in aged 5. Also the first aircraft I jumped out of in flight (it was not personal)

Presumably not aged 5. 
Why was that aircraft the first you jumped from? Was this before you joined up?

Began with a Joint Service basic free fall course at Netheravon. They had the Rapide and an Islander as the jump ships. I did five I think from the Rapide which was great - you shuffled out onto the port wing and on command let go into stable spread. On the islander there was only a tiny strip of metal grid to stand on. The course was 3 static line, 3 static dummy pull and then progresively longer free fall. I think I got to 10 seconds free fall. The really talented got to 15 secs but all your exits and position had to be perfect. I enjoyed it so a few months later I did pre para and then P troop.

It is a link trainer. Unrelated when I taught at Perth we had 4 that were servicable. They were given to Scottish Air Cadets. I believe one still works.
