Where You Are Photos (2019)

That would of been awesome if you guys met up by chance.

We should all get a symbol. Something to put on a jacket or a tattoo :joy:… Just in case this eventuality happens again!

I got it! A bomb hitting a target! None of you will of thought of that! The target should be red as well.

Look I’ve said it before, y’all make patches and I’ll buy em. I got jackets they could go on real quick lol

That badge would look amazing on an orange top hat, just saying…why not do both?

Orange tux and top hat with a Mudspike badge at every air show / aviation museum visit / anything vaguely aviation related just on the off chance of a fellow mudspiker there? I like it. Like a secret handshake, except more orange and tuxedo-like. I think we are onto something here…

…and when someone comes up to you at the airshow and asks you about that awesome orange tux…you have to say…

“The first rule of Mudspike is - don’t talk about Mudspike…” or something cool like that…

Speaking of (unexpected) airshow.

We were sitting in the garden when a wing of 15 DC-3 passed by for a memorial flight of the Berlin Air Lift some minutes ago.

Father’s Day hike by Pitt Lake, BC. I got lots of chocolates today (I don’t need more chocolate, but appreciate the thought), but hence the long hike for everyone.

A big freshwater lake on the left, with a flooded marsh protected wetlands on the right.

Popular with boaters, although given this is a nice Sunday it’s really quiet around here.

The wetlands is really pretty. Lots of herons, frogs. We do get Elk around here, but no sign today. There’s also a sign at the boat rental place that Wolf have been sighted, so watch your pets if camping. I guess that keeps the Elk population down.

Looking back up the river, spot a pair of Osprey on the pole in the water on the right.

We had binoculars, so got a good look. Only had a crappy non zoomable lens phone camera, but here they are. The female is on the nest while the male is just chilling looking at the view. We also saw some Bald Eagles, but those are like pigeon’s around here, so no photos.

A nice place, weather was perfect.

Looks like a nice road for a gravel bike…!

It is, although just a one-way there-and-back thing (which I think puts people off), as the hike loop goes through the wetlands and that turns into a pretty overgrown trail that’s not good for bikes. We walked for about 2 hours and saw no-one all the way around. Kinda odd, but we didn’t mind. We were done by midday (it was 27C/80F so not too hot) so that’s probably a bit before people turned up.

Here’s a close up of the Osprey, (I stole from here, not my photos just what I could see in the binoculars). The pair have been there for years and are great to watch fish.

Pitt Meadows would be a good Air Hauler base…I think ORBX built that airport too.

Working further away means its cheaper to take the bike everyday… And quicker! It’s nice to get some use out of her. Bought it when I was 17 in 2002. I’ve never been able to let her go. I’ve crashed it. Smashed it. Raced it. Rebuilt it. Changed it. Upgraded it. Downgraded it. It’s like triggers broom (only fools and horses reference for the English amongst us ) she’s part of the family!

You bought it when you were 17??? I bet your Mum was none too happy about that! When I was 17 I had a 50cc Simson that could get up to a blistering 40 mph … so long as the wind was behind me and I was going downhill. LOL. It looked much like this one but it was a fetching silver rather than red.

Meh, he should have gotten you an internet based artist to give it a custom livery 4k texture paintjob that…
What?

(J/k, obviously- that’s soo cute!)

I hear ya! Looking at getting my third bike sometime this year and I can’t sell my first one ever… Just finished putting a ton of new stuff on and it’s fantastic!
