Where You Are Photos (2020)

I don’t read much Vogue, but The Orion Nebula is in our galaxy already as a remnant of a supernova. The Andromeda Galaxy is the object I think you’re thinking of. Which is already colliding, but we can’t see it visibly.

Now you’ve got us excited! Those inserts sound great! Good info @BeachAV8R, thanks.

It’s been snowing here all day and the smell of fireplaces is in the air

I had no idea the electric blower actually sucks air in from the bottom! Does the hot air blow out the bottom as well?

Yep, of course you’re correct. Too many beers cheering the Dolphins on today which didn’t work…
Still wonder why if expansion theory says everything is repelling everything. I’ll shut up now.

Thought the sun was going to expand and swallow the Earth up first. It’s so confusing…

No, the hot air comes out of the sides…so cool air gets sucked in the vent on the bottom, exhausts on the left and right sides of the insert. We also have a cast iron steamer we sit on top of it when it is in use…it adds humidity to the air to help with the dryness.

I’ve been lagging a bit in my posts here, so here’s one from last month!

Pigeon in the city that was plucking it’s own feathers, I wonder if it got into a fight or has a disease of sorts… It was among it’s peers so perhaps it got into a ruffle with another animal?

I would preserve a cockpit seat. If Fliss let me an aircraft in the garden. Maybe in front of the house?

Funny that in the UK, its more common to find a former mil jet in someone’s garden. They appear to be decently affordable. In the US though, finding even an ejection seat for less than a small fortune, is impossible.

@Victork2 and I are looking at the ex BA 747 fleet with a view to acquiring a cockpit seat or two for our sims.

I have a contact that has just been gifted all the airfield lights and signs of RAF Lossiemouth. Fully functional and available for offers, 100% goes to a veterans charity. I can put anyone interested in touch.

They haven’t replied about my Victor parts purchasing idea. That poor old girl is gonna go for scrap and not a thing I can do about it

If you know the scrapyard they might be a better contact. The yard at Elgin that scrapped the Buccaneer fleet was very good selling bits. Even a whole airframe. If you are in Elgin take the road towards Lossiemouth. On the right just before you leave Elgin is the Buccaneer petrol station

I wrote quite an eloquent email to them. Im irritated I got no reply. I even offered to sign a contract saying I wouldn’t re sell the parts and was interested in preserving them. I really REALLY want the refuelling panel.

Who did you write to?

Marham base commander and sent another to a link I found on a website. I also reached out to XM715 (Bruntingthorpe victor) club and tried to get in touch with Bob Tuxford as well. Did the job properly but I probably sound like a mental person or a chancer. Shame. I actually had the best intentions with this as its something I believe in very much

Situation normal?

You might write to the Station OC Admin and ask him who is dealing with it. The RAF will just want to get rid of all of it in one go, not break it up on site.

No way to discreetly take a picture of the situation.

I am sitting in the parking lot at Smart and Final getting ready to move to another location because some jackhole is smoking next to me. He is definitely a chain smoker since he immediately lit another when he finished the one he was smoking when he parked next to me.
