Where You Are Photos [2021]

It’s been there for over 10 years now. Crazy that they were apparently close to flying it out in 2015…but that got nixed too

This was a first for me. Up at Sawyer field in Michigan’s upper peninsula and saw this over the field. A Chinook equipped with a spraying boom that simulates icing conditions. That is an AH-64 Apache following it and getting ice sprayed on it…sorry for my potato quality pics…

5 am and heading out to take a buddy to LAX for a 9 am flight. Hopefully that will allow enough time…

Greetings from sunny California.

Been raining like heck with 30 to 40 mile hour winds for most of the day.

You can add pea size hail for about 15 minutes to that rain and wind now.

I think we were looking at the same view this morning @tempusmurphy. I was sat in Harrow and saw very much the same view.

Yay England! Dull, cloudy and mostly damp.

So basically you are saying you were…

…sitting in an English garden waiting for the sun?

That means: If the sun don’t come you’ll get your tan from standing in the English rain.

(I love it when silly song lines apply)

Snow day today …

Had that yesterday.
Took more than an hour to get home from work because people kept being idiots.

Some dude in a gigantic Mercedes tried to overtake a bus and instead spun.

Another guy drove up a hill in what looked like first gear and full throttle, sliding and kicking up snow like crazy while doing walking speed.

Meanwhile I was easily going. The traction control in my Honda works pretty nicely on snow. Very smooth power so I rarely drift at all. Almost boring.

Whooomp, there it is! Jackknife!

This newbie just caused me to be a half hour late for a delivery appointment. Luckily I was way ahead of schedule to begin with.

Be safe mate, that looks like no fun at all to drive a big rig through.

Where abouts are you tackling the storm today?

That looks worse than what I got out the office window presently, for sure!

One of the firm I work at had a brand new truck and trailer jack knife in the snow on Monday. Compared to the conditions @Elby posted above it should never of happened. We had about a quarter inch of snow and the whole country just utterly fails to continue functioning. Its ridiculous

That happened just about an hour after snow started to fall too LOL!

I’m currently having lunch in one of our favourite haunts … Guelph! Snow’s coming down pretty good up here. I’ll be heading up to Elora and Fergus a little later.

Haven’t been down that way in quite a while, with lockdown and all that.

I’ve never been on Highway 6 during a good storm & at the time of day with normal traffic - hope drivers down there aren’t as bad as they can be in the GTA!
