I passed 6 challenger tanks, 2 Bridge throwers and god knows how many wolves and DROPS heading your way earlier @keets.
I nearly crashed into one convoy staring at the Oshkosh HETT pulling it. I may be obsessed…
Seriously guys. Its days like today that make “going postal” a viable option
Needed to drop my car in Cardiff for some work to be done on it. This will take a day and a half. My Mum lives in Port Talbot near Swansea so I said to her that I would catch a train from Cardiff into port talbot and get a taxi from the station to her house. Stay the night and then do the reverse tommorow. She suggested I bring the kids as well, well why not.
Dropped car off at 1030. Walked 1 mile to train station. Waited 2.5 hours in the rain to be told train was cancelled and I needed to go to Cardiff central station.
Did so.
Waited another 1 hour with hungry kids to get train.
Got train and was ejected at Bridgend Station due a “fault”
Ate food to sate children (who have been utterly wonderful to be honest)
Got on train to final destination at Port talbot, feeling happier now its nearly over.
Arrive Port talbot and I’m not joking when I say the door release button wouldn’t bloody work. Hit it. Punched it and was just about to totally lose the rag entirely when the train just…pulled away.
We ended up in Neath. Not a million miles away but far enough to be a proper pain. Asked ticket lady how to get back to Port talbot and she helpfully told me that we had just come from there. I never EVER take out my problems on the staff regardless of my mood but I must admit getting…close to my civility limits and found out that the next train back would be another 55 minutes.
Asked politely to be let out the station as soon as humanely possible as I’m getting close to setting fire to the whole place.
Ordered a taxi and got charged more than I am completely comfortable with but the bloody ordeal is over.
I. Hate. Public. Transport. I’m gonna leave 2 days early and walk next time.
Bravo zulu on not completely losing it mate. Couldn’t have handled that any better myself. Take it out on @tempusmurphy next time we fly! He’s earned some 20mm by proxy lol.
Thanks @schurem. Its not the end of the world. Just a bit maddening to be AT your destination only for the shonky busted train to not open the sodding door.
Still… all good now.
Me and public transport honestly are better staying apart. We just do not get on. The really irritating thing is I drove 120 miles to get to Cardiff completely without incident or problem. The last bloody 20 miles by train took nearly 4 HOURS!!! AND COST ME £47 IN TOTAL with the taxi.
I hate public transport. It was lower than cruise ships this morning on the list of Victork2 pet peeves but my god its equal now.
Please note I had nothing to do with the above situation… I have no contact with anything to do with transport for Wales … But if I had of known of aforementioned travel plans I would have come up with something more creative than a train fault . . … but seriously bang a claim form in for some compensation … Anything that delays any journey over 30 minutes means you are entitled to something back … And I know how much those tickets cost …
It’s date night, we’ve gone to Blenheim Palace to see a drive in movie. Its pretty cool! We are seeing “the greatest showman” which is a movie I would rather not see but the wife likes it…
To be fair it was better than I thought it would be. Still not totally on board with it but it was better than moulin rouge. I’m not a fan of musicals.
I went to that movie expecting a historical movie on barnum… Boy I was surprised when the intro song went into another song… and then another . It’s not really my kind of movie but it turned into a slow burn and a massive success in the cinema’s so good on them!
Yeah, they don’t do a anything for me really. I’m not knocking them, just not my cup of tea. My wife enjoyed it though. Gotta say, that zac efron was so much better than i expected though. He’s actually a very good actor in my opinion.
