Where You Are Photos

@EPOCH_bc +5 points (1 bonus for mentioning “opossums” in a post…one of those quirky Mudspike rules that is buried in the founding documents…)

I promise I’ll be back to work at EPOCH this week - as you can see, I’ve been spending my vacation time before I accrue it…LOL…!

BTW - those are “Maple Burst” pancakes. I highly recommend them…

No clues…

@fearlessfrog - I knew it…you’re Inigo Montoya…!

Inconceivable!

One more clue. This was just down the road.

That is so Gibraltar.

A good guess, but no. One more…

You become a Disney Princess in Epcot?

Yep, EPCOT! Walt’s City of Tomorrow they didn’t build and waited till he was in the ground before doing another theme park.

Disney security still enforce the restraining order on the princesses (cultural misunderstanding between human/mermaid that one time, bah) but the rides are good.

@chipwich - You might recognize some of these places… Taken yesterday…

Got the grand tour direct over ATL on the way into CCO…

Nice Beach! I can smell the cheeseburgers at the Down Wind. Must go for lunch today. Check out the Porsche Experience facility in the upper left hand corner of your Hartsfield shot. It’s the white V shaped building with a track on the south side of it. Can’t afford one with kids, but a fun place to visit.

@chipwich - Copy all that. I’ve been to most of the fields around ATL…and have probably been to PDK a hundred times or more…but I’d never been to KCCO (Newnan) - what a zoo! Mixing our Citation into all those trainers in the pattern was a bit exciting for a minute or two. One guy calling in on the Unicom from afar gave a fair appraisal when he called it “Newnan Circus” then made his position report…

Had an awesome meal at the Redneck Gourmet in downtown Newnan though…highly recommended…!

Good story Beach. That must have been fun! I have only been to Newnan once, to test fly a Traumahawk that was for sale, well before kids. It did enough of the wiggle that I decided not to bite, although I’m sure it was a fine airplane. My friend John and I did make it to KPDK for lunch today, and I had to take a peek in my favorite hanger on the way out.

Epps

@chipwich - Great view - you know, I walked through that hangar on my way to the Downwind about a month ago and one of the line guys said that pole in the hangar was something like the original beacon tower at the airport? Or something like that…might be an urban legend…but he sounded convincing… Seem to recall seeing some L-39s in there too…

Always love the blackened grouper at the Downwind, or the carved turkey sandwich and that potato salad. Mmmm… I’ll shoot you a message if I get over there anytime soon and maybe we can grab lunch.

Chris

Yours landing after being awake for 36 hrs. On RNAV.
