They have been super…and yes, I actually stopped wearing my glasses in my O+ because I was worried about scratching my lenses. I just jammed my Oculus Rift WidmoVR lenses into my O+ (they rest in there, but not precisely) but I have the actual O+ lenses on the way.
They do ship from Poland, so they may take a few days to get through customs, but they arrived in pretty short order (a couple weeks).
I am considering the WidmoVR lenses for my O+ (I managed to scratch somehow the lenses with my prescription glasses - will try to fix that with the PolyWatch once it arrives) and would be happy to know what is their impact on percieved FOV?
I have a set of WidmoVR lenses on order for my Rift S, and had a set by a different company (VR Lens Lab) for my Rift CV1. They are all basically the same thing. The lenses sit right over the headset lenses, which has little, if any noticeable effect on FOV (certainly better than when you wear glasses while using the headset). They will be a lot more comfortable than wearing glasses too.
To put it another way, my experience with using VR lenses in the Rift CV1 meant that I had ordered lenses for the Rift S within a week of me getting it. I’ll do the same for the next headset too.
Yeah…nothing but good things to say about WidmoVR. They have great communication, produce a great product, and wearing a headset without glasses feels sooooo nice. Like Paul, I had them for my Rift and ordered them for my O+ the day they came available, and will do the same if and when they start making Reverb ones.
I have nothing but Good things to say about WidmoVR they are an excellent company to deal with and I ordered my lenses for odyssey plus and they are perfect…
Apart from the initial order confirmation, I heard nothing until a couple of days ago to let me know the order was complete and the package was on it’s way. That was almost 3 weeks from the initial order. I wasn’t too worried because they have a note on their site saying that things are taking a little longer than usual due to demand and as a company they have a good reputation.
I did get the order confirmation email quicker than 4 days though. Did you check your spam folder?
I contacted them yesterday and got a reply already. It’ll take longer. I saw also the announcement on their site but still expected them at least to confirm the order.
Btw. the PolyWatch worked quite nicely on my O+ lenses. I was able to get rid of the small scratches and only one or two deeper ones stayed. People reported that by repeating also the deeper ones disappeared but my fear is that, since the “fixing” actually takes material off the lense, the lense could lose too much of its curvature and the image would be too distorted.
Sooo, I bought these when I had seen this. I cant find my reply, maybe it was a msg between @BeachAV8R and myself. He recomended these and I bought them for my Oddessy. I tried them a couple of times but they pressed up against my face and no ammount of coersing kept them off me. It took about 15 minutes before I could not stand them. I put them away and did not think about them. I just played with my contacts on. This got old as I dont wear my contacts to work anymore. I seldom wear them and prefer my grasses now. I am getting to the other side of 50’s (56). On monday I came home and I decided to give them a go again. Again it was the pressure against my eyebrows. I looked and them and with nothing to loose decided to do something about them.
Here is what I did with an Xacto and a coarse nail file.
Same here. I just bought a pair of sunglasses on Montblonc Rims. I also replaced my reading glasses for work. It feels so good. When I started to wear the Widmos the other night I had to fix them. The “mod” came out good and I dont have to worry about them pressing on my forehead. Zero money spent.
When my G2 gets here Im going to be desperate to get inserts also.
