Wierd Feedback with my headset and mic

Hey Everybody,

I am trying this as a last ditch effort before I toss this beloved headset… I get a wierd feedback in my mic when speaking and it gets worse when I am playing a game…

The headset I use is a Roccat Kave 5.1 analog headset. I have tried many suggestions and it seems that it might be the littl control panel for volumes of the 5.1 channels and volume knob.

It seems like it is a electronic feedback and I have tried about everything that Google has thrown at me. I mean if it is something in the control panel but the parts are too small and it is unworkable by meyself.

I thought it was the wire I used as I had to plug the mic into the front of the case and thought maybe the wire inside the case suffered from electronic interference.

I guess I have to face the inevitible and relish it too the junk pile…

Did you try it on another PC?

Not yet but I can give that a try…

Well I just tried it on the PC I am building for my nephew and I am getting the same thing so it definetely must be the headset.

I may check the electronics thingie and maybe check that wire I think got stripped a bit inside the headset other then that it must be the headset at fault.

That sucks but I had it for at least a decade…

EDIT: Well I just checked the electronics part it all looked ok just not sure what the issue is. I guess these are relegated to the scrap heap…
