I’ve been quiet about it. Its been brewing for some time. Two weeks ago I was guaranteed a slot… I was so happy. Then 3 days ago my boss said she could no longer guarantee that spot. I was gutted. I thought I was staying so I bought another motorcycle. Then the world turns upside down.
Well, today the company that took over that job contacted me. We will have a talk and see what happens. I am cautiously optimistic. This is contracting and nothing is sure until you sign an offer letter. Just hoping they don’t try to lowball me.
I’ve been working here since 04. I took a break in 2012 for 3 years. I had a son, I was a stay home dad for 3 years. But Sweden didn’t work out. In 2015 I got my old job back. Since then I have ascended to Service Desk lead. I love Qatar and the Losail track days. Love the low gas and insurance. But part of me says soon I will go. 2 more years and ill retire. But this is not a good time. So wish me luck guys…
You’ve had a challenging year and an amazing run, @Maico. It’s easy for us to say that you’ll land on your feet regardless. But that’s because we believe it. You are a motorcycle-racing expat adventurer. You can do anything.

The recruiter emailed me again last night. He wants to talk on Wednesday night!! Thats a week away so I’m not happy about waiting. However, if I show im desperate he might try to low ball my offer. So I must Chill. I’m hoping he calls before then.

Ok, I decided to tell him to give me a call before Wednesday. I have too much going on if I am to leave the country. 4 vehicles to sell and a whole lot of toys to pack. I need to know sooner than later. I for one just need to know. Living in limbo sux.
