Windows 24H2 Install

For reasons I don’t fully understand, I had to update to Window’s 11 24H2 today. Other than the WMR thing, has anyone come across any big issues with this version; settings, gotcha’s, etc. This PC is only used for ‘playtime’.

I looked at the version and I was still on 21H2. Hmm,

I updated. I’ve seen no issues.

today, my PC suddenly offered the update, too. So I postponed it for a week.

Maybe I can finally finish Half-Life Alyx over the holidays. After that, the Samsung Odyssey+ VR headset is toast.

I have feature updates for Win 11 disabled. That only works for Win 11 Pro though, I don’t think you can disable feature updates with Win 11 Home

Yeah, I think I heard a faint whimper seeping up from the bottom of that box I put it in.

It was really uncomfortable though; was a franken-headset when I replaced it - all manner of extra padding and straps. My biggest gripe: no backup now!

If you use many of the newer Ubisoft games, like Avatar, SW Outlaws, the last few Assasin’s Creeds, there is a known issue that can prevent them from running.
There are a bunch of other things I’ve read about that keep popping up that have labeled this Windows update Worst Update Since Windows 8.0.
However, there are always going to be plenty of people who never experience them.

Working fine for me so far with the Quest 2.

Had an issue trying to install 24H2 straight from the media creation tool on another PC - just got a black screen every time the GPU went to widescreen format (older Nvidia GTX 1650 card, windows installs its own drivers before I can get the official ones every time). Managed to boot to safe mode (or whatever it’s called now) and install the official drivers, then it was fine.
