Thanks for sharing, yeah all vídeos from him i love to see, he is an amazing guy and i respect him a lot. For exemple he did a noble war against some patent trolls.
About X-enviro, it looks gorgeous, but i have many quuestions about it. Compatability with future vulkan? high price and many incompatible issues with some add-ons from what i usually see many people on xp.org foruns complain with add-on X or Y having problems with X-enviro. So i think its a nice add-on but not only you need a nice rig and prepared pocket to pay for it, it can also have some potencial issues with established paywares.
XP does some really weird stuff to be honest. When I’m at the loading screen/menu, my computer whines for lack of a better word. As soon as it starts loading into the world as it were, it stops.
I found XP10 to be really weird. Like I’d fire it up, and be getting 12FPS, then change the settings to windowed mode then back to full screen without closing the program and be screaming along at 50FPS.
How are MilViz on X-Plane? Do they do VR bindings etc, is the quality low/medium/high etc?
I’ve ridden in one of these Otter’s quite a few times around here, so curious to see how they are on XP 11 before spending the cash. Would be an ideal jumper for the Orbx Washington area.
Sorry for the long delay in replying - my internet challenges kept me somewhat low volume the past week. I don’t own any of the MILVIZ (Milviz? MilViz?) planes for X-Plane unfortunately. I would swear that maybe @PaulRix or @chipwich had bought their 310 - so maybe one of them will chime in.
I have their Otter for P3D and it was fantastic - and the F-4 Phantoms for P3D that I was reviewing for the magazine. They were great too, although it really is a struggle to enjoy military aircraft in anything other than DCS World at this point.
Looking at their P3D/FSX lineup, it is quite an impressive list of aircraft. The only other one I’ve flown is the F-100D for P3D which had to be around 5 years ago. I remember I liked it quite well.
So, I’m not much help with your original question. I’d be curious about the VR controller implementation as well.
On my bucket list to get over to Vancouver or Seattle and take the boys on an Otter flight. Or maybe something like this:
So this is a nice (in my opinion) little mod to the JRollon CRJ (I like that plane even though it is a bit simplified). This mod redoes some of the cockpit textures and clears them up a bit.
I have removed most of the display glare.
Some cockpit labels are now clearer.
Cockpit textures are now darker ( I didn’t like the original since they were too bright for my liking)
FMC button labels now lid up at night.
Spoilers and flap markers also lid up at night. (Both 4 and 5 use the DOME KNOB to lid up)
Dome light dimmed slightly.( The FMC lights are on the same Dome knob, was the only way i could get them to work, so reducing the dome lightning made them stand out more plus makes the cockpit night ambience look better)
I decided to lid up both the MCP and upper panels knobs, including the AP switches. They only lid up just enough to see them at night. Although this does NOT represent a real CRJ200 cockpit, I thought it would enhance the night cockpit vision.
So I like it - the scratches on the overhead with v1.0.1 of this update might be a bit too heavy, but hey, maybe Edward Scissorhands got one of those index cards in the mail from PSA begging for pilots…
I’ve got all of the MilViz Phantoms and the Hun and they are glorious in VR. But I don’t use the hand controllers and don’t own any civilian aircraft. Would buy a Beaver in a heartbeat. Does it it seem strange that they don’t show a Kenmore livery for the Turbo Otter? Maybe a copyright issue. Anyway, will probably pick it up since I got a right seat ride in one the last time we were in Seattle. All you have to do is ask
