in first minutes of this stream there is that Challenger FBO and walkaround shown, looks very good
I mean we already saw walkaround simulated in XP11 (Rusky Yak52 comes to mind), but that FBO is new feature iirc

Exactly that!
Its why many times i feel more immersion in good old sims than sometimes dcs. Ofc dcs as a aircraft/heli sim is perfect, but not give any feeling of being a pilot. In contrary, in older sims, like many of microprose, in menus you feel that you are a pilot participating in a war, were you go to briefing room, hangar, corridors of the base, etc etc
Itâs a âhobbyâ⊠they said.
If a future update allows you to buy Krispy Kreme doughnuts with Bitcoin, welcome to the metaverse.
I think too much is the point where they lose more money due to lost sales then they gain from having a higher price point. I kind of feel bad that I am not buying the Challenger 650 because it looks like they have created something above and beyond what we usually seeâŠespecially for a business jet.
When I look at the depth to which they have developed this aircraft simulation, I understand the asking price. Itâs a rivet counterâs dream come true. My only reservation, other than that which has been mentioned previously, is that the developer seems to blow off VR and TrackIR, like he canât imagine the need for either before sitting in the pilotâs seat. Otherwise, itâs an impressive effort.
I read on reddit (a bastian of accurate info) that the developers of this have committed to providing a free update for XP12 when it comes out.
It looks cool, although I donât know if I want to pay extra for stuff like driving the icing truck. Still, great to see the FBO stuff, thatâs neat.
Who doesnât want to drive the de-ice truck? I feel I really missed out on that back when I worked Line Service at a small airport.
Does anyone know if it affects performance? In other words, is the state of icing reduced as compared with using the normal deicing equipment on the aircraft? If it does, then I could see if you were flying a MUDSPIKE Christmas trip with live weather that it might make the difference in starting a leg or not. I also wonder if they modeled the sound effects of being sprayed. I think that if you were at a place like Denver and were flying a leg to SLC in January, that it might ramp up the realism for some. Or is it just another PIA getting in the way of starting your leg?
I could skip all of the FBO stuff, but once Iâm strapped in, I kind of like the idea of operations matching the environment. But Iâm just a recreational pilot, so maybe to your pros it just prevents you from getting in the air, tantamount to having to clear TSA screening.
what was the results of last years navigraph survey? did the VR and trackir users participated in numbers exceeding 10% ? just asking
I can skip that âinside FBO functionalityâ but I really like the idea to walk through FBO to the aircraft for preflight and then boarding the craft.
I can imagine this could substitute for the dullness and generic nature of modern ingame user interfaces (in comparison to old games).
like there could be FBOs modeled for business jets, combat ready rooms for military aircrafts, etc.
Thatâs also on the X-Aviation site on the product page.

For a $115 and all the FBO immersion detail, they didnât include the ability to order coffee, ice and papers. And carrying/loading bags! Bonus: pax arriving 1 hour late and never notifying you! THAT is corporate life.
Jokes aside, with future XP12 support, Iâm beginning to lean toward the purchase. Someone push me back over the fence.
I enjoy all that stuff most of the time. Passengers turning up when they want to is job security for us. ;).
Other things they could add⊠a time limit for getting the airplane ready. Even if the pax are late, the airplane still needs to be ready to depart at the planned time.
Landings rated for smoothness. You have to keep an average landing score at an acceptable level or you eventually get fired. Sometimes you have to plant the jet firmly so to keep the average score acceptable, you have to try to grease it on when conditions allow.
Paper work⊠filling in the flight logs, duty times and expenses.
Fuel purchasingâŠ. You can save the boss thousands of dollars just by being smart about purchasing fuelâŠdo you just take what you need for each leg, or âtankerâ extra fuel because it is cheaper at this location than the next⊠which brings us on to multi-leg missions with trip sheets.
Same, but Iâm waiting for a little bit more information on XP12.
Be careful with the âitâs just a nicheâ argument. Did you see X-Planes falling market share in that same survey. Would hardly seem worth developing for anymore? Just asking
That is better and more accurate info, but less fun than watching the developer getting in the weeds comparing this to DCS.
It looks like a one/two person passion project, so his thinking on the pricing was probably âI spent a lot of time working on it.â. Without sim fans making stuff the hobby would die, but I donât think the business side is overthought.
Need to know if FBO Hotties is going to be offered as reading material in the lobbies?

If we are talking about a $100+ 3rd party addon, then I would bet the majority of people who would justify buying it will have some type of head tracking device. This isnât a product aimed at the casual simmerâŠ
