You know what - weirdly…when I switched to the Steam version of X-Plane, my controllers reverted back to the original configuration. I can’t figure out why…but they did.
So they work now?
I think that this may be a case of WMR fighting Steam for control. If I start with the above procedure, it seems like it may be ‘forcing’ WMR, whereas before, if I started WMR, then Steam, Steam would get to dictate the config and mess up the WMR config.

Yes, they work just as they did a few betas back…the menu controller works normally. Maybe it was a clean install created a new preferences folder, but I’m pretty sure I tried deleting the preference on my old install and still had the problem. I think you are right though - there is some conflict going on between WMR and Steam.
