Hey @chipwich, I just found this out yesterday so bear with me …
I have the same mobo you’re getting … the ASUS TUF X570 Plus. When you install it, forget about the stupid Armory Crate thing. That’s only good for setting up your RGB Aura bs that I also disabled. I run completely dark now because I found the RGB bs was actually interfering with my Oculus Rift S! (jitters)
Bottom line is I was periodically checking the Armory Crate for any driver updates that I might need and I THOUGHT it was keeping me up to date … NOT! 
It was completely useless at that task too. Until yesterday I was sitting on BIOS 1201 (from 2019)!!! When you get your system up and running, just go to www.asus.com and download/install all the latest drivers and BIOS. Now I’m happily updated to the latest BIOS 3602 (03/06/2021).
Also, if you just want the BIOS to control your CPU fan instead of any software solutions like AI Suite or whatever, just go into your BIOS and set the Q-Fan CPU fan profile to TURBO. It’s a more aggressive fan curve and you still probably won’t be able to even hear your fan. I use the Dark Rock 4 “be quiet” CPU fan myself.
