Whatever the outcome, you will find a way through. Sending you positive vibes…but I need to know your exact bearing…

Hang in there @komemiute. You will probably end up with offers from all three companies that you have lined up. They all would be crazy if they didn’t want you.

I would like to thank all of You.
It made the difference.

I know I’m probably sounding trite and a bit silly but the encouragement messages and support DO make the difference.

and yes-- I got what very closely look like my dream job.
It’s Senior IT, it’s one of the biggest companies in Italy and I can breathe again.

It’ll be a little less money to begin with but the change of atmosphere and going back to do what I KNOW I can do… it’s worth it.

I begin to breathe again- I’m not kidding when I say that I’m feeling my shoulder loosen a bit the tension that gripped me since January.

Yes, it’s a challenge as well but… the difference this time is “I know I can”.
I actually am bringing something into the company.

I also get to keep my beard.

(But I’d gladly cut it if it meant anything.)

Also- thank you for withstanding with patience my slew of written nonsense…
Reading back all I wrote so far made me cringe a bit.

Update time:
Well, so here I am.
Resigned yesterday- all went unbelievably smooth an professionally, which is always good.
I have a free week now, that I’ll be using for a special project, and then off to the new job!

I want to thank all of You again for the support and patience.
I will post a retrospective in pictures when I can. There’s still some interesting stuff.

As a side note, all three offers came around the same week, not only giving me the choice but one of the three clearly stated that no matter what happens I’ll always be welcome there- anytime, no questions asked.

Take care everyone and be brave.

Reminds me of my significate other… Sorry, that’s Dr. Significant Other PhD.
After submitting her thesis and getting her PhD, she got a 3 year post doc. fellowship. At the end of those 3 years she realized she would be out of a job! :flushed: No? Really! Your’re a PhD, but didn’t see that coming?
Anyway, she had to do what we all do when we need a new job. Yes, write a CV and send it to prospective employers. She sent ut 5 applications and received 5 offers…
Now all of a sudden that became a problem as well! Academics!

As a side note- I’ve started the new job yesterday.
I will admit that it’s a lot to take in- DB and services migration is not joke- but so far I managed to tackle eveything that was thrown at me with ease!

I feel happy, appreciated and ready to give 150%!
