All sounds good Chris. I am definitely going to have my own AH company as well as participate in the Mudspike VA.
Coming from a hobbled AH1(shoe-horned into XP11), AH2 is way more in depth. This is going to take some time to get the most out of it. I just spent some time importing the aircraft that I think will be useful from my ever so small XP11 hangar .
Is anyone else seeing this mesh/terrain elevation at Pangborn Memorial (KEAT)? - it is on the short list of possible bases but something funky is going on with my ORBX scenery there. That cliff is supposed to drop off by the golf course I think and not that abruptly…
OK - so I actually applied this custom airport and it fixed the issue - which makes me think it is an ORBX airport boundary issue perhaps (or an X-Plane default boundary issue that ORBX uses). There is a newer custom KEAT (2019) that still has the terrain problem, so it too probably uses the same airport perimeter data or something that causes it. Anyway - if you use this file, it should solve the problem:
One thing to note though…that 2017 version of the airport (the one with the good mesh result) still has runway 7/25 open - it looks like it has been closed in recent years…
First problem I can see right off the bat…I’m gonna have to do some kind of editing to that office window view. In our house, we refer to Delta as “The Enemy”…so that just ain’t gonna fly…
OK - so it looks like I can open a Virtual Airline and transfer in any money I want to from my own operation (if I have any left). So I’ll probably open my freelance company first, go with selling the default aircraft right off the bat, and see what I can buy with the money and still have enough left over to put a bit in the MAC-VA account. This might take me a while though while I puzzle through my aircraft options.
I’ve pretty much settled on Pangborn, WA (KEAT) as the home base though. Interesting terrain, and puts Idaho into range and put a central hub with spokes that go out toward the coast, down into Oregon, up into Canada, and out toward Idaho.
For those curious of the Aircraft Management - this looks like the default aircraft set that is imported from X-Plane with some data for you to look at. Like @PaulRix, I’ll be importing some other aircraft into Air Hauler 2 before I choose which one I settle on… You can also delete the aircraft from this list (I’m doing that now) to tidy it up (ie: KC-135, B-52, X-15…planes you’d never use…or maybe you would!)
Are you just Googling and finding some aircraft specs - I just did the Cessna 207 and there is some varying information out there so I took some median values…
Looks like AH2 ascribes a value to the plane new on its own…in this case, the C207 was $414K.
I came up with:
Cruise Speed 143 kts.
Range 560 nm
Fuel consumption 16 gph
Max passengers 5 (I think this should be higher, I tried to put 8 but AH wouldn’t allow it…said it was too much)
Flap damage speed 140 (I wasn’t sure how AH interprets this…140 is the flaps 10 degree max speed…looks like 30 degrees if 105)
