Was yours imported at a New Cost of $997,182 ??
Ummm. Yes.
Granddad left me a virtual wad of cash
Went the ‘easy’ route to buy it for a test?
So it sounds like the prices for planes are slightly off. Is it that way for fees in general? Just curious.
Yeah thought the price of the BE18 was a bit stiff. They’re proud of it I guess. Off like x10!
According to this:
https://www.findaircraft.com/aircraft-for-sale/?AircraftType=Beech+18
Though of course they are used. No used ones in AH2 when I looked; somehow they cooked one up still in the wrapper.
I think - but am not sure, that the cost that AH calculates is somehow based on gross weight and maybe cargo/pax capacity…? I definitely don’t think they are true “market value”…
Beech 18s are awesome. I wish that there was a good one for XP.
Think it’s MTOW.
The interior model is a bit rough, or simple I guess. Exterior looks good. It sounds really good. Mainly picked it up for sentimental reasons.
No other reason necessary! I’ve got a lot of planes in my hangar that are sentimental to me…a few hours in the real type here or there…sort of part of the story…
I likely already know the answer since many of you would have specifically mentioned it to be the case if VR didn’t work. Having read the manual there are instances where messages are displayed on screen in flight. Will these display in VR?
I have not had any luck gettign VR working while AH2 is running, but it could be that my very bloated XP11 install is the problem. I think I am going to have to get ruthless and cut out some of the dead wood I think I’ll give it another go later on after tonight’s gliding task.
Anybody know if you’re required to do a full XP11 shutdown after every job you do? Seems awfully time consuming to have to load XP up for each individual flight.
I’ll be happy to check it later tonight…been limited to 2D today with a lot going on around the house.
Hmm. Trying it now…
Uh, oh. We’ve got issues, launching from AH using VR. Trying ‘stuff’…
See below
You don’t have to, but the manual indicates that’s the recommended method.
I’ve now had my machine lock up twice. Not sure if it’s AH2 or orbx central. ahhhhhh
Ok. Well, sold my 172 at the creation of company, and there are zero planes anywhere nearby from the current used market. Plus it hasn’t updated with the newly imported aircraft in the used market. Sooooooo. Looks like we’re waiting a day or two
Ok, works in VR, with the following qualifications:
- Must start in “Networked Mode”: AH won’t start the sim for you. This doesn’t work. Come to think of it, I always started in Networkd mode in P3D too. Though no VR then, my recollection is there were issues then too.
Network Mode can be applied to all flights (prob’ a good idea) via Options menu. If on single computer just check that box. OTW you have to set the IP address.
- The Type Rating prompts do not come up in VR (they pop up on the monitor window). Ya have to peek. As I recall, from AH2/P3D, the type rating is the only time you get prompts I believe. So should be okay after that. Fly the TR in 2D I’d say if you wish. As @BeachAV8R mentioned, it’s just 2 altitude assignments and 2 heading assignments, followed with an “OK” landing. Some vertical rate SWAG AH does to check this.
Actually it may have a “Have a good flight” startup prompt or somesuch. Haven’t gone beyond the TR yet.
PS: Man did I pick the wrong day to quit sniffin glue…
I jumped into the Beech 18 for the above test. Wind 25G30 at about 15-deg crosswind (RWY 30? Wind 280@20G27). Ok, so suck it up right? Then I realized if you retard the throttles OR the prop levers a teensy bit too far the engines quit. At 2 mile final! Got the left going but not the right. So single engine landing too. And the sun was in my eyes!
There needs to be a ‘stop’ on these levers cuzz it’s really easy to go too far.
My seat shaker was kickin my butt in that turbulence. Actually worked up a light sweat. They should take my license.
Yeah, this is why, if I recall, I always started AH2/P3D (new company) with enough cash to get the juicy planes. Never when full monty: Hardest mode. I mean, it takes money to make money, right?
Same with me - I never had any good luck with Air Hauler launching the sim for P3D. I’d often run into trouble.
Yeah…you get a couple prompts that would be not quite essential to see in VR about the conduct of your mission/flight…I’m gonna have to experiment tomorrow morning. I burned up too much of my day doing other stuff today and haven’t had time to really study it yet today.
