Air Hauler 2 for X-Plane discussion thread

This area of the country (central WA) sure is scenic though…

Heading out of KEAT…

Nice thing about ORBX is the custom buildings they add to the scenery…which is kind of nice…

Hanford test site…I think some secret agent stuff goes on there…

Dropping in to Pasco / Tri Cities…

Sorry I meant my personal company.

We could buy a Cessna 172 Bush for MAD for anywhere from 191K (used) to 239K (new) - and since it is free nobody would have to buy an add-on plane…

Or…we can wait until we get to around 600K and pick up a Kodiak or something, but that would require people to already own it. Unfortunately there aren’t too many default middle of the road aircraft beyond the Cessna 172…from there it pretty much jumps up to C90 type cost ($1-million-ish)…

I found it slightly disappointing that when you export a job to the VA and fly it, your personal company doesn’t get reputation added. I see that the VA (MAD) gained 1 point of reputation, but my company (MAC) stayed at 20.

So it looks like whatever Personal Funds you earn by flying under MAD (your 75% take) is able to be transferred out of your Personal Funds to your own company (I was wondering about that)…

Tip from developer:

“You need to run AH2 “As Administrator” because you have installed X-Plane in Program Files, which Windows will prevent writing to.”

AND

“Check you have the FMS Plans folder in the Output folder in X-Plane…AH2 assumes it should be there .”

Regarding messages in VR, under options you can set it to read Airhauler messages out loud, using Text to speech.
Works really well I think.

Purchased…still haven’t fired up XP in months.

We’ll see how daunting this will be…expect some dumb questions in the next few hours!

That’s a disappointment !
So probably I will stuck with FSE for a while.

Well, according to the developer, you can use helicopters… I don’t know though, haven’t tried yet.

I’ve installed AH2, and run it…successfully contacted the MAD company and joined etc.

Frustratingly, I haven’t been able to complete a type rating flight. I get the “ready to launch X-Plane” pop up menu, and XP fires up…but the mission doesn’t load. I don’t get the “resume last flight” option in the main menu, just “resume current flight” (which loads an unrelated previous situation) and “new flight”, which isn’t the right one. The plugin menu doesn’t show an AH2 plugin running either, but there is an AH2.pln in x-plane plugins folder. I reinstalled AH2, but the issue persists. I’ll try again tomorrow…hopefully I don’t need to reinstall XP, it is quite an old installation, a few years anyway.

I have been lurking and reading this thread with interest. I have been getting into Air Hauler 2 on p3d over the past week or so, after reading Beach’s exploits on the p3d version and have my base set up in England flying the Comanche. I am really enjoying it so far and it is making me fly routes I wouldn’t have considered before!

I saw someone mention that the VA is accessible with p3d too? I think I will join and set up another personal base in the PNW too to make use of the amazing ORBX scenery.

Do you run xOrganizer?
If you do, there is a chance the plugin is disabled in there, and needs to be checked on.

I do, but it seems to be running:

Bugger, that would have been an easy fix. Could be C++ redistributable stuff then, saw some mention of that on the support forums.

Well. Orbx fail overnight. Computer totally seized. Couldn’t wake display. I’ve made sure to launch as administrator now and we’ll see what happens.

For something that’s supposed to be smooth pretty disappointing experience so far.

Seems to be a common issue… That is requiring me to mess with my bios. Sigh. Very disappointed.

Is that an issue with ORBX updater?

Oh that’s right…now I remember. :+1:
