We could buy a Cessna 172 Bush for MAD for anywhere from 191K (used) to 239K (new) - and since it is free nobody would have to buy an add-on plane…
Or…we can wait until we get to around 600K and pick up a Kodiak or something, but that would require people to already own it. Unfortunately there aren’t too many default middle of the road aircraft beyond the Cessna 172…from there it pretty much jumps up to C90 type cost ($1-million-ish)…
I found it slightly disappointing that when you export a job to the VA and fly it, your personal company doesn’t get reputation added. I see that the VA (MAD) gained 1 point of reputation, but my company (MAC) stayed at 20.
So it looks like whatever Personal Funds you earn by flying under MAD (your 75% take) is able to be transferred out of your Personal Funds to your own company (I was wondering about that)…
I’ve installed AH2, and run it…successfully contacted the MAD company and joined etc.
Frustratingly, I haven’t been able to complete a type rating flight. I get the “ready to launch X-Plane” pop up menu, and XP fires up…but the mission doesn’t load. I don’t get the “resume last flight” option in the main menu, just “resume current flight” (which loads an unrelated previous situation) and “new flight”, which isn’t the right one. The plugin menu doesn’t show an AH2 plugin running either, but there is an AH2.pln in x-plane plugins folder. I reinstalled AH2, but the issue persists. I’ll try again tomorrow…hopefully I don’t need to reinstall XP, it is quite an old installation, a few years anyway.
I have been lurking and reading this thread with interest. I have been getting into Air Hauler 2 on p3d over the past week or so, after reading Beach’s exploits on the p3d version and have my base set up in England flying the Comanche. I am really enjoying it so far and it is making me fly routes I wouldn’t have considered before!
I saw someone mention that the VA is accessible with p3d too? I think I will join and set up another personal base in the PNW too to make use of the amazing ORBX scenery.
