Air Hauler 2 for X-Plane discussion thread

If you don’t exit X-Plane at the end of a flight, and then Alt-Tab back to Air Hauler 2, you can just start a new flight in the open X-Plane instance and you are good to go. It will still lauch a new instance of X-Plane though, which sits at the initial X-Plane menu screen. I have just been killing it manually. If I find an option to prevent AH lauching a new instance of X-Plane I will report back.

Look at “Network Mode”: Options icon | Setting & Path | [x] Use Network Mode. This will prevent AH from starting XP. That should do the trick

Thanks, I will try that… I really should RTFM  .

Naw. This is faster.

From the developer:

“You should be able to, but not passenger flights, as they will never be loaded (starting the sim initialises the pax loading).”

A follow-up comment noted it appears to work in Network Mode.

I’ve found my X-Plane is very quick to relaunch into the same parameters I left…I guess some of that stuff is staying in memory (?)… But on initial load…it can take a couple minutes if I’m using ORBX scenery areas…

Be nice if they did have your VA flights displayed within the app, or let you filter it as such on this Live Radar gizmo. Or I’m just missing something.

I see you guys on the AH2 radar.

Or within the App?

There’s a tab in the App (look up about 10 posts for a screen shot) that looks like it should show yur peeps on the map. Has a [] Update Radar button and all. But I don’t see anything there. Perhaps later addition?

in the app. cargo jobs tab, radar.

I see beach near Kennewick.

Hope Beach isn’t carring lithium batteries!

I’m outta here for now. Got a new book to read: “I’ll Take the 18” <-about flying the Twin Beech!

That’s me. I set my base at KEAT too. Such a good spot :slightly_smiling_face: only bad - It’s a little anxious moment trying to climb above the cliffs to the north in my little Cessna. Have flown a same short job twice now. Neither time was picked up by ah2. Really frustrating, especially when even 50nm feels long for this Cessna - with time acceleration on. Guess I really need to rtfm. Also had ah2 launch a second XP session. Didn’t know XP could do that. Will try what you guys said above next time.

It didn’t recognize it at all? Definitely check the manual for cargo jobs. It should outline the steps required to make sure the job is completes.

I know there was some mention of needing to sometimes taxi about to make sure AH2 picks up you’re at the right airport… But that should give you a failure notice.

As for me… I’ve got orbx running by itself overnight to try and convert Washington. I’m convinced that’s what locked up my computer twice (had to force restart). Hopefully with nothing else interfering it will just finish. Then Oregon in the morning while I’m busy.

With any luck I’ll get a refresh on aircraft availability. Worst case I can lease a 208 or something to start. Or book whatever VA craft we have and run a mission. I’m assuming I have no company missions because I have no aircraft.

This reminds how much tinkering there is vs. flying

Hey there…I saw ya’ on the map.

To everyone who has joined already - I’ve set the permissions for your pilot to be able to:

Can Withdraw Funds :white_check_mark:
Can Donate Funds :white_check_mark:
Can Repair Aircraft :white_check_mark:
Can Upload Jobs :white_check_mark:
Can Accept Worldwide Jobs :white_check_mark:
Can Cancel Jobs :white_check_mark:
Can Create Pax Sectors :white_check_mark:

The only things I have unchecked is:

Is VA Admin :x:
Can Buy Aircraft :x:
Can Sell Aircraft :x:
Can Transfer Aircraf :x:

I haven’t RTFM either yet…so I assume Can Withdraw Funds means you can Withdraw Funds earned at that 75% level maybe. I saw after completing my job that there was a section called “Holding/Pay” for $753.00. I hit Withdraw and that went to my personal bank account. So whatever you fly - I figure you should have access to your money.

I don’t know how you get that Personal Cash over to your own company… :man_shrugging: I also don’t know that all of you have access to the full Bank Account (currently $406,600 - thanks to a generous donation by @Sine_Nomine). If that were the case, it would probably be pretty easy for the company coffers to get raided. So I’m assuming your access to cash is only access to cash you’ve earned. I could be wrong on all of that though.

Can repair aircraft - I assume if we have company aircraft, you can use company funds to repair it. I don’t know if those funds will also repair your personal aircraft or your own company aircraft (ie: non-MAD company aircraft).

Can upload jobs - that allows you to send jobs from your screen to the company if you want to fly them there or make them available to others in the company I assume.

Can accept worldwide jobs - I guess you can go find other jobs out there too and still contribute a portion of your revenue to the company (25%).

Can cancel jobs - feel free to cancel jobs if your kid is choking on a hot dog.

Can create pax sectors - no idea…I don’t fly pax…they throw up.

Can Buy/Sell/Transfer aircraft are all unchecked for everyone so that someone doesn’t decide to buy a DC-10 and put us 40 million in debt. I still don’t know exactly how this works (buying aircraft for the VA), but perhaps we can have a “meeting” to decide what aircraft to buy with our $400K - ish on hand. Or buy several smaller ones. I’m also unaware of how that aircraft is available to VA members…like if someone is out flying it, is it not available to everyone else. All to be learned and determined.

I’m open to suggestions, guidance, and tips on what you guys think…

Also, I think in the P3D version you could land near an airport and if AH didn’t recognize your exact landing location as the right spot, it gave you the option of trucking your cargo to the destination for a small fraction of penalty. Not sure if that is in this version or not.

Yeah…when it is real IFR there you’ll have to be very careful climbing out to stay on the black lines of the chart. I can’t wait for the weather to get bad…

Yes. You book out company aircraft. I believe va admins have the ability to forcibly revoke the booking in case someone forgets to return it or ends up AWOL for whatever reason. Could be a different level of permission, but it’s definitely there (I did RTFM)

There may be no company missions because there is no company aircraft yet. I flew one in my own company (MAC) aircraft for MAD by sending one of my MAC missions to MAD then immediately hopping in it. My assumption is that once I buy an aircraft FOR the company, maybe the mission list will populate.

I guess I need to figure out what plane everyone thinks MAD should buy with the 400K in the bank. I still need to figure out how using those planes works.
