Artist Thomas du Caju has more interesting aviation art, but as this is actually a topic about the aviation art by artist Romain Hugault, below his hommage to the F-14 Tom Cat:
Yep! I came across some improved uploads of these drawings, so I edited some of my posts in the Angel Wings and Buck Danny topics.
But I have to wait editing again. Meanwhile I am adding some music in the music thread. Enjoy!
The scenario: It’s November 1941. The town of Moulmein aka “Little England” in Burma is a far away part of the British Empire. Jonathan (16) is the son of the colonel. He goes to school near the airbase, but he also knows the real Burma, that of pagodas, Buddhist rebels and the famous “Blue Moon” nightclub. The American pilot Archie, manages to introduce him discreetly into this world of Thousand and One Nights, where half-naked girls dance and where the soldiers come to relax. Jonathan is in love with the Asian singer Ruby. But Japan has attacked Pearl Harbor and the war, which was so far away in Europe, comes dangerously close. An English warbird has been shot down and Jonathan discovers that the Blue Moon is used as a hideout for the rebels. He should warn his father, but he wants to warn Ruby first …
Some art from both “Little England” volumes:
@komwmiute. Yes, thanks! Saw it also, but I had reached the limit of editing and had to wait for 13 hours. My mainly French sources are not always accurate, therefore additional checks were needed.
I also came across this “inspiration”:
However, this is an exception. Artist Romain Hugault usually manages to draw exclusive scenes.
He also prefers to draw the lesser known warbirds and airplanes, like the Nakajima A6M2-N “Rufe”:
Haha no worries.
With Mudspike being a forum filled with airplanes enthusiasts you’ll find that we often correct small mistakes like these.
I hope you don’t feel like I’m nagging you.
For me it’s just like a trivia.
Keep up the great art, I think everyone loves the content you’re uploading here.
Seeing some of the WW1 art, I wonder if he’s done anything featuring Eugene Bullard; I’ve fallen into a rabbit hole reading about him recently, and talk about a colorful figure both during and especially after the war.
