Yeah… I would like to try and play a bit eventually. I just noticed the notification on the Antistasi Discord even if it was an early June update.
Hi @TeTeT , sorry to bother, there’s a new update for Antistasi- I know I ain’t playing much but…
no prob, give it a try. I’ve updated the mod and the bikey, server restarts right now.
Hello there, while I have no chance (let’s say good enough internet) to play this- and won’t for a little longer- I have found this VERY interesting Mythbuster-like article about ARMA 3 AI.
Surprisingly accurate, verifiable, and definitely interesting for every ARMA 3 player.
What can/can’t the AI do?
Thats amazing. The part about the can opener and small objects making the AI better drivers around placed obstacles is really interesting
Currently the server is inoperational. Some steam/arma3 rendered my old update script for the mods useless. A rewrite from steamcmd.sh to depotDownloader is in order. Hope the server is back by tomorrow.
I’m actually proud of what we achieved. In a special way I feel like we won already.
@smokinhole - you’re welcome! The moment I saw it I literally had to post it here.
Hi,
not sure if anyone tried to play lately, but just now during my Christmas flight to Svalbard, I updated the server mods once more. If anyone wants to check if the server is still functional, feel free to do so.
Merry Christmas,
TeTeT
And thank you for hosting this server …it has been a great blast
I kinda like that they’re still supporting 3… but I kinda wish they were putting this effort into getting Reforger fully up and going so they can move onto 4…
I guess it’s the VBS arm updates flowing down to the game though?
I have some doubts, I don’t think the two Bohemia companies are still connected. My understanding is that VBS was a fork of the RVEngine back in the day and has been developed independently since then. I’d be surprised if that VBS code could flow back into arma 3.
I work at my IRL job with VBS4 and it’s still under Bohemia, just another branch that’s dedicated to the militaries.
BiSim and Bohemia Interactive are separate companies with the same roots. Check Bohemia Interactive Simulations - Bohemia Interactive Community
Bohemia Interactive Simulation (BISim, known in the past as “Bohemia Interactive Australia” or BIA) was formed in 2001 as an initiative of both David Lagettie (of the band Seventh, whose music features in the soundtrack for Operation Flashpoint) and Bohemia Interactive; it is the company behind the Virtual Battlespace (VBS) series, a professional training simulation aimed at armies and military entities.
While they share the “Bohemia Interactive” in their name and VBS 1 and 2 respectively partly used Operation Flashpoint’s and Armed Assault’s engine,
Bohemia Interactive and BISim are two separate companies and do not share any more technologies .
AFAIK BiSim is nowadays owned by Bae and in contrast BI has TenCent as partial (minority) owner - a no go for military business now that TenCent has been declared a Chinese military company (IMO).
Yeah, my understanding was flawed.
New large Antistasi Update.
