Somehow forgot about this but Artemis was suppose to launch a mission to circle the moon today. Launch was scrubbed for an engine issue. Next launch window is Sept 2nd.
Dāaww, I had the live stream up on big screen, kids all filled in on the mission and hyped up and⦠its a scrub.
Tryied to pull the live stream up on my phone at work. Only to find it said sept 2nd.
I thought i was going insane lol
Yeah. Was watching the Everyday Astronaut feed. There is a problem with engine #3 and itās hydrogen fuel bleed valve? If they canāt figure it out, itāll need to be pulled from the pad back to the āhangerā and thatāll mean a delay to October. If it says on the pad, next attempt is Friday 2 September.
Iām actually laughing at the massive crowds who took off work and drove out there into that mess believing it would actually launch today.
History proves new rockets NEVER launch on the first try. Maybe some of them were hoping for a big BOOM?
1pm est(1700 utc) NASA is holding a live press conference about Artemis status. Fingers cross they dont have to roll it back.
Next update Tomorrow Aug 30th at 6pm EST(2200 UTC) Starting to sound like things may have been rushed, I donāt think they have rolled it back yetā¦
I wonder what the psychological condition is where a person excessively enjoys laughing at others ⦠oh ya, here it is! āKatagelasticism". Carry on ā¦
As someone who spent the first 20 years of their life being laughed at by others who barely knew me on a daily basis, I will call it a learned condition.
Make no mistake, I hate people. I despise them. I was mercilessly tortured by them for my entire childhood and I will never forgive them for destroying it.
But are there also people you love?
I literally have more fingers than there are people I would say I love. I would dare say that is about equal to the number who feel the same way about me.
You may be wrong there bud. Youāve been around since the early SimHQ heydays of Microprose and Janesā. I have always valued you as a reasoned and well informed voice with a snarky sense of humour that I find highly entertaining. Yes I love you. Not in the same sense as I love my wife or kids of course, but most definitely the polar opposite of hate.
Ive always found you entertaining and informative @JediMaster. You have a unique style that i both enjoy and admire.
You are both funny and savagely cutting without being rude.
That takes skill and intelligence. I like it and you.
Yeah, Jediās cool. Registered at simHQ in 2001 and he and PanzerMeyer were going at way back then.
He was correct too. I checked and the first Shuttle launch was delayed 3 times, So it does happen and does affect crowds.
Jedi has been here, there, and just about everywhere that I joined later and I always found his posts useful. Must be after almost 15 years of reading his posts I am so used to his posting style that I do not take anything he says to task.
Wheels
Saturday Sept 3rd at 1417 est, the launch window opens again.
Thanks for admitting that Jedi. Thatās a major wall you broke down in front of us and explains a lot of things about your online personality. Hopefully you can find it in your heart to like us here at Mudspike one day.
Iāve been watching you āpontificateā your opinions on the various forums over the years. Some great. Some personally offensive, but I accept them (for the most part) because nobodyās perfect!
People are really excited about the Artemis Mission and want to witness and be a part of history first hand ⦠letās see what happens on Saturday ā¦
T-5hours and 23 minutes, as of 1224 UTC
Propellant is loading but it sounds like they have had some issues and are a bit behind.
Issues are a hole in the liquid hydrogen feed line, they are filling in manual and engineering a plan to go back to fast fill.
QD connection still leaks after multiple attempts to reseat. LOX is 100% but Liquid Hydrogen stands at 10%. Would hate to think a QD would cause a scrub, Roughly T- 3hours 15mins. So they have time but not sure on the launch window for today either,
UPDATE: 2 hour launch window. So the window is 1817 to 2017 UTC
