Actually, was downloaded for me in under 30 mins… lucky, I guess.
Dentist appointment first… then thinking my personality, a TANK (fighter, berserker). Upfront in all the action, screw you magic users. Muscle is where it’s at.
Are you sure that you have the release version?
Some people accidentally downloaded the EA version today, which is less than half the size.
89 GB? Is that the EA or release? Got to check that I guess.
I think, if I remember correctly, the EA was under 40.
Mine was 100GB.
Mine was 120. Not sure why.
100GB to DL (125GB unpacked) and the six hour wait (5MB/s) has begun.
Uh oh.
I played until 2am last night and made good progress, but a few guys over at reddit make me paranoid now.
Apparently you should really check if saving actually works (save, quit the game, start, load), especially if you had EA saves.
The game (apparently silently?) Fails saving. So if that bug is present for me when I get home tonight I will lose the whole night of progress.
Also: it seems that you can miss an important character (at least until later) if you don’t walk along the first beach (spoiler free, the beach is very early in the game) immediately after arriving there. I went to camp and back to store stuff and didn’t meet the character. Apparently you can meet them later in act 1 but that means that you have to work without them initially.
Other than that people don’t report a lot of bugs, and I encountered only minor ones so far.
The subtle changes between EA and this release meant that escaping from the nautiloid for the umpteenth time wasn’t too much of a chore…
I have only just arrived at the Emerald Grove.
I have read that the save bug might be related to cloud synch issues? I have turned that off for now.
Update: Issues with saving the game, the culprit is cross-saves. Hotfix patch disables it for now.
Yeah the nautiloid is shorter. I like it.
I haven’t been to the grove yet, I decided to go for the ruins first this time (and take a different path than in EA). Hard that early but fun. And I am trying not to save-cheese on this playthrough.
Me. Tried and failed. I’m smashing that F5 key and reloading until I pass the D20 roll
Also, even if I didn’t like how the conversation went
I am only a little into it but I am enjoying it.
I am trying to do this as well - taking the L’s with the W’s but there are a few times when I get screwed up on something that I expect to happen that can;Y? Example: trying to throw one of those spike grenades (don’t remember the name) through a door and I can’t Why? What the heck?
I don’t know, I haven’t tried throwing any of the grenades. I usually throw spears or axes (my Paladin has low DEX so throwing a spear is better than shooting a crossbow).
I started another campaign, playing a druid because I wanted to see the wildshapes. My kids love this one:
Well; that was unexpected
It would seem that ‘romance’ happens quite early in the game… Laezel decided that she ‘liked the smell of me’. Word of warning: if you agree and have nudity on/visible it would be best not to have any young un’s in the room!
I am really loving BG3 so far. No bugs (yet?), it looks great, has to be one of the few (only?) RPGs where I haven’t felt ‘forced’ into dialogue choices by the narrative.
Best D&D game since Neverwinter Nights IMHO.
BG3 is pretty great. Haven’t gotten sucked in to a RPG like this in a while. Just couldn’t get in to Pillars of Eternity or Divinity II.
