Cool thing:

Love these High Pressure Aviation Films. This A350 landing in Paris looks more like a spacecraft than an aircraft …

That hull stays nice and clean that way! Just add an escape slide and you’ve got yourself a nice makeshift waterpark for summer maintenance!

Well, it was inevitable of course, but Delta (“The Enemy” in our household) is retiring their Boeing 717s and 767-300ERs by the end of 2025.

Delta Air Lines has 91 Boeing 717-200s in its fleet. At the end of the second quarter of 2020, the airline only owned 13 of these aircraft, meaning the rest were on lease. These planes have an average age of just under 19 years of age, making them a little old for short-haul workhorses.

I always thought the 717 was a cool little jet. I liked the one by TFDI for P3D…I just wish someone had made one for X-Plane.

Can’t help wondering what the one engine out performance is on that kit…?

Is it me or are we getting better at this?

The part where he flies over the lake is…unnerving to me. I’m trying to imagine swimming in that gear…

That is beyond amazing! But is there really potential for it to be used as quick response paramedic transport? Seems a bit like a 3D Segway to me.

I was thinking the same… Sure, it can probably get a medic on site pretty fast. But nothing more. I doubt it can carry much payload.
But…and here’s what’s important… This is just the beginning. Everything must start somewhere. Give it a few years.

also what is the endurance, how much fuel does he carry on him? and what is the max weight it can carry. But all that said its damn cool

Here’s what I think:

Some guys came up with a modern jetpack that is easier and safer than those that have come before it. Once it worked they said, “Great! Now let’s brainstorm to find a niche for it to fill so that we can access some venture capital.”

“Surveillance?” No
“Military?” No
“Police?” No
“Film?” Maybe but limited
“Mall Security?” No. Malls no longer exist and we’d probably set people on fire anyway.
“Toy for rich people?” Yes! But in order to convince investors we need a more sympathetic angle.
“Saving Lake District hikers with wrenched ankles?” Yes again! Time to get viral!

Man…I need this for Air Hauler. I had never seen an airplane with interconnected engine drive shafts like this (about 2 minutes into the video). Fascinating concept…

What a cool little plane! I’d never heard of it before. Such an interesting concept. In my view there is a lot of potential failure points with the system but still. Very interesting stuff.
That approach speed is incredible

Yeah…I found it interesting how they made such large props in order to cover the wing with instant lift response. That is one thing I’ve always loved about the King Air I fly…throttle almost instantly means lift…whereas with the Citation, throttle…wait a bit…then lift… It is what makes the King Air so perfect for dropping into the shorter strips we serve.
