looks like there has been a boeing 737 crash in Indonesia

Since the 737 has been under intense scrutiny recently, let’s be clear: that was an old 737-500.

Are you still in the simulator phase or do you have a real one available already?

We have one sitting in our hangar right now. Only four of our pilots are checked out on it thus far. The decision was made to delay type rating the rest of us for 6 months due to delays in receiving our follow on #2 and #3 aircraft - both of which will be an air ambulance configuration. So right now I think I’m heading to school on it this summer. All of us stare longingly at it in our hangar whenever we walk past it.

I did hear a pair launch from Coningsby a while back but assumed it was routine. I live between Coningsby and Cranwell

Business jet lost coms with ATC. You do not get long nowadays before you are joined by a Typhoon on your wing alongside your cockpit while being given a ‘deep stare’. The other Typhoon is behind you with guns selected. Local news in Lincolnshire commenting on the two Typhoons doing brakes off to mach 1.5 and finished climb in 1.5 minutes. The aircraft re-established coms having been intercepted. Landed (instructed to divert) at Stansted which is the SAS airfield of choice for dealing with terror attacks/hijackings.
