Nice of you to acknowledge. We all know that the credit for Shakespeare’s apparent genius should go to the printer!
Romeo oh Romeo, where art PC LOAD LETTER.
I love the flush faux rivets/screws!
Yeah, that turned out nice!
I may redesign the base top cover and I need to make a cover for the roll arm as well. I’m going to try it out some to see if there is more that I should adjust.
Its looking very cool!
in the bottom/base it will have some leather/fabric cover to avoid enter dust on the base holes/gap?
Yes. I’m waiting to see if I need to redesign the hardcover first.
AWESOME, it will be something like the base cover on the cars manual shifter handle.
Looking forward to see it finished. Really nice project!
So, FFB is fun! So far I have only tried it with the Spitfire in DCS. The stall buffet adds a lot of the tactile feedback I need to fly close to the edge, so to speak. The controls get heavier at high speed and lighter at low speed. It is much easier to feel when the airplane is out of trim.
I need to find and install user made profiles though. I have a hunch they may be even better…
You got the angle wrong on your grip. It’s supposed to be straight ahead. You’ve got it twisted what, 15 degrees to the left?
depends of what real aircraft he is trying to replicate, but many many joysticks that are centered between the legs have a small twist to the left to it became more ergonomic natural to the position of the hand.
For example thrustmaster they even have setting to twist the x/y plan to correct that, having the grip twisted but the axis orientation no.
So imho Troll did it very correctly as common to these kind of sticks in fighters.
I was kidding. I don’t know any person more qualified to mount a Viggen stick than Troll.
The joke is that I contacted Heatblur and offered them the 3D model of the Viggen stick grip as theirs was…not entirely up to code, as it were ![]()
They accepted but mounted it without the 15° twist due to a mistake.
It was corrected in the subsequent update. ![]()
Hahaha, nice, i not previously know that story.
Good one! Now i understand the private joke.
The ConTrollR Control Loading Knuckle Flightstick is working great! It adds another level of immersion…and complexity. No such thing as a free lunch.
I’m not quite happy with the very small slack in the roll link that connects the handle to the roll motor pulley. It’s a mechanical link and designing them with as little friction as possible, while maintaining a perfect and slack free motion is almost impossible.
And since still had my original idea floating about inside my head, mounting the roll motor on the pitch arm, I just had to give it a try…
