i will be watching …
Is “very soon” 1 week instead of 2 weeks, be sure? 1 week, sure no?
I hope it is a T-45…
A-6 intruder ? I may be one of 10 people that wish full A-6 intruder model
Christen Eagle.
When he said full back seat access, I was hoping he meant right seat access.
Oh, I’m pretty sure there are way more of us than that.
One of the most disturbing photos that I have ever seen…all I can say is “Oh the humanity!”
And yet it was one of the most distinguished strikers of recent history.
I have nothing against the F-111 per se. In fact I enjoy flying an F-111 in FSX. It is the juxtaposition of an F-111 with an aircraft carrier that makes my head spin like Linda Blair in The Exorcist.
(And what ever happened to Linda Blair? I never saw her in another movie since Chained Heat…a women in prison film… tragically ignored by the Academy Awards.) EDIT: See Mudspike at the Movies thread
That said, stay tuned to the Where AreYou Photo. I’ll be posting a little present for you over there in a while.
Can’t wait for picture. Just poking fun. I agree, the f111 should never have been basterdised and put on a carrier at a cost that crippled the land based version. But the fact that it did was impressive. Akin making a square peg fit a round hole with a sledgehammer.
It is posted…and the accompanying article was written when the naval version was still part of the plan.
A two seater tandem naval fighter?
Uhm… F-4 Phantom.
It’s not the viking is it? Or an e3? That gauge just before the video cuts looks extremely familiar but I just cant place it…full REAR seat access means it can’t be an a6… Radar operator on the other 2 maybe? Or is it just wishful thinking…
That gauge is bothering me could someone put me out my misery and tell me what it is?
Oh no, shiiiiiit
Nailed it.
I remember reading about the carrier quals for the F-111 and I recall something about the pilots being absolutely terrified of landing because it was impossible to see the carrier over the nose of the aircraft and the deck crew were practically trying to run away from the deck with every landing because they were terrified that the plane would simply just go through the deck at some point.
