Lol just casually introducing a new AAA piece…
Hey! What’s that ZSU-57-2 doing there?
Open Beta Planned
'Open Beta - Public testing build
Currently version number: openbeta 2.5.6.54046
Next update: Planned 16th September ( subject to final checks ):
Nope, date changed. Now listed as 23rd:
Dear all,
Based on feedback from legitimage SMEs and verifiable data, we have updated the the flight dynamics:
1- Buffet and wingrock no longer set in right at chopped tone. You can now retain nose authority at initial chopped tone. However, if you were to continue to increase AoA while in chopped tone, you eventually get buffet, wingrock, and stall.
2- Available G before chopped tone was increased by 1 G. As such, if you encountered chopped tone at 2 G, it will now manifest at 3 G under the same condition.
Together, we and the SMEs believe the A-10C will fly in a more realistic manner with improved performance.
Kind regards,
Wags
Sounds very good! Latest word is that the newly updated A-10C II is intended to drop on september 30th (if nothing unfortunate would happen). There’s a chance we may see the FM updates even earlier than that.

some details on the price of the A10C II upgrade
What is the DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer update?
This is a paid update to the existing DCS: A-10C Warthog to add new systems, features and fixes to usher in another 10 years of the most advanced simulation of the A-10C on the market.
How much will it be?
The full version of A-10C II will be $79.99 USD and the upgrade price will be just $9.99 USD for a limited time.
I already own the DCS: A-10C Warthog, do I need to buy this?
No, if you do not want to buy the upgrade, it will not be required. You will already see the benefits of improved cockpit 3D model and textures as well as other fixes to the A-10C. You will not have access to new features and systems that come with the upgrade.
Will A-10C II and the upgrade option be available on Steam?
Yes, we plan for both.
Why do I have to pay for this, shouldn’t it be free?
Many of the fixes and updates will be across our entire A-10 family, this can include the upgrade, the original A-10C and in some cases the A-10A. These fixes will be made and added free of charge. The paid version is for weapons and systems that required extra research, development and implementation to add.
What happens to my original A-10C if I buy the upgrade?
It will still be available to use as you remember it today (with addition fixes of course). You will still be able to use all the content and such you had before, you will simply have another module called the A-10C II in the game to use.
What new features will come with the upgrade?
- AGM-65L Laser Maverick
- GBU-54 Laser JDAM
- APKWS
- Updated, weathered cockpit textures
- Updated and improved external model
- Helmet Mounted Cueing System (HMCS)
- Updated HOTAS commands
- ARC-210 radio (not at EA release)
- Updated 3D cockpit to remove TISL panel
- New mission content
- Adjusted flight dynamics (available to original A-10C as well)
Will there be an missions for the DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer?
Yes, we will have a mix of new, and updated missions for the the A-10C II.
Will my paid campaigns work with the new module?
This will be up to content creators if they choose to update their campaigns to the new module, other wise they will work as normal.
Why are you doing this, shouldn’t you be working on the Hornet, Viper and other core issues?
The DCS: A-10C Warthog is an important module to DCS world, keeping it updated and relevant is very important to us, and to our users. This project is only being worked on by a few devs that were instrumental in the original A-10C, it has not affected any other project or core issues being addressed.
Where is my warning horn gone!?!?
From valued feedback of a real life A-10C pilot and huge DCS World fan, we have determined that the horn was never operating as it should. It should only sound during tests, and during activation of the gear handle. All other emergencies are only shown by the Master Caution light, no horn.
What about the missing thrust?
As above, the same valued feedback was given, and we determined that there were no issues with thrust, but issues with when wing stall and buffet was experienced. We have now tuned this, and the A-10C is performing much better than it ever has. These changes should be seen across all A-10s in the game. See the note from Wags here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php…0&postcount=65
I’d call that reasonable!
My first thought too. Even though I can’t tell ya the last time I fly the ‘hog’ (any version) - just knowing the big “Burrrrrppt” is there makes me feel safe at night
Looking forward to it.
I like the Hornet for its versatility but the Hog is still my favourite DCS module and the one I am most familiar with.
Beyond reasonable!
It is beyond reasonable…I just can’t bring myself to say it. I have to negotiate for a living, and I’d never want the other side to think they’ve given away too much…so when something is an absolute steal but I don’t want it to go away, I go “I’d call that reasonable”.
just thinking same
I think I’ve spent an hour total flying the hog. But for that generous price offer to upgrade, they will definitely be receiving my money.
Well done ED. Great customer service there in my view
Its a great day. Devs worked thier butts off to give me a new Hog with all kinds of new features for 10 BUCKS?!?! Im from Planet Earth, I must be lost.
I have a few hours in the Hog mostly “training” and playing with the Weapon Systems. Nothing serious. I got to where I could start it and stuff then something new came along and…Dropped it like a hot rock. I really enjoyed flying against the ZSU 23 - 4 and using the precision munitions. Will have a go when its available.
These are the days when ED really wins you over. Thank You ED!
Best module bang for buck ever for me. Hell I got Nevada free after buying A10 in beta and now for 10£ I get a new upgraded aircraft
When is the new A10 upgrade release date?
Well. It is correct, though! It’s currently planned for the 30th unless anything bad would happen. so yeah… two weeks™
DCS 2.5.6.55363 Open Beta
Dear Customers,
Today we release the Open Beta with several high priority issues for the Hornet AIM-9 family which were discovered yesterday. However, I decided to release this OB because it delivers significant changes made by our partners to the aircraft that are very important for you and we prepared new features for Hornet and Viper.
The issues will be fixed and updated during the coming week.
Sincerely,
Kate Perederko
