DCS 2.5.x Screenshots (2019)

I read up in the ED forums that some people have reported to "cut wing-men loose from formation then recall them back to rejoin formation. I tried that last night and it seemed to work. They got back in formation and I noticed the landing lights were not on. So you might want to give that a try.

Thanks! I shall!

Tonight me and the Tomcat finally gelled. First gun kill against a proper foe. First Aim-54 launched using TWS and I got a Beautiful hit on a Mig 29 at 35 miles
I had been neglecting this module slightly (bit daunted by difficulty maybe)

it wont be happening again. its beautiful. What a beast. few quirks to work out. cannot aerial refuel for toffee. I really struggle to get her in trim. always tucking or lifting slightly. not sure why but if i sit at say .85 in the cruise its never quite settled…

One other minor point was this was my first time flying it WITHOUT vr.
I’ve come to the conclusion that to learn a plane or a chopper i cannot do it in vr. i must learn it first and then switch. i tried this with the hip and had great success and now ive switched to VR with that its fantastic
the Tomcat is a lot more complicated and the switches being worn and the low res of VR did me a disservice i think. I had a great time learning her again tonight…i hope the start of something special.

WOW! @schurem that’s fantastic thanks mate. I’ll let you know what I think. It definitely helped just flying procedures on the big screen. I can close my eyes and visualise where stuff is now. I figured out so much of the little important details like the tacan and radio equipment last night. It was much more enjoyable. Now I think I can move into vr and start training for :top::gun:
Thanks buddy

Fantastic shot. Love the ominous atmosphere it oozes…

Tell me, have you been working on the camera team of the last few Game Of Thrones seasons?

Ha, I’m a small survey sample, but I’ve never participated in any sailing or yacht club activity, be it cruising, racing, or maintenance, that there wasn’t copious amounts of alcohol being consumed. In other words, just the thought of boat ownership gives my liver the shakes.

I cannot stress how subtle and brilliant this mod is. The guy is a bloody genius

Thanks @schurem this is excellent

Oh dear, it appears I landed at the enemy airfield…and per DCS rules, getting a man on the ground means a takeover. Jerry was compliant in being evicted.

She brought me home in one piece, I’m sorry I couldn’t do the same for her.

lol thanks Freak. I’ve never really even watched an episode of GOT

Some ballsy moves in Offensive Posture on HP North by a random guy in a F/A-18C…

That SAM detonated safely behind him. This is an SA-11 site with SA-13 protection too.

He actually got something too!

Drawing enemy fighters up to angels 40, hoping to make them burn off a bunch of gas. This shot wouldn’t be much to post about except that little black speck above my aircraft is actually an R-27 that was meant for me.

With only one Sidewinder that went dumb off the rail, I was into a gun fight.Kept on this bandit’s six until my TrackIR decided to have a little spaz (thanks F5 camera - I otherwise try to not use it). Before I could get back on him an F-15C swooped in and knocked him out.

Another action packed evening on Hollo Pointe North and Offensive Posture with @Wes and @USMCBEANS later! I elected for the Harrier tonight, starting off on the Tarawa. ATC is still broken there so no matter how many times I asked for startup or takeoff, the Tarawa wouldn’t properly respond. I loaded up for CAS near Gali, employing Rockeye and gun. Two convoys were destroyed along with a number of smaller vehicles, but shortly after enemy fighters came up and I turned to run. I swung by FARP Warsaw, then turned around when Fulcrums were being engaged. I was watching one but F-15s got him. I then saw a pair of Hinds which were dodging all missiles and elected to gun one down, but I only got a few hits before a Gadfly forced me away. I came back around and made a gun pass on a BMP, but my RWR was screaming so I ran again. I dodged missile after missile, which didn’t make much sense and only later realized it was a human in a Su-27 trying to get me. I came around and got a tone with Sidewinder, blowing him to complete smithereens – nothing left but the fuselage and engines. He held on though and fired a magic missile which hit me and took out my starboard wing, to which I elected to crank the chicken switch. Mutual kill, though I had initially assumed it was an AI. After that, I switched over to FARP Warsaw as the situation at Gali demanded a more rapid response. I got some good shots from the track for the first sortie, but it went off the rails shortly after the Hind shoot.

Last sortie of the evening, after taking care of Gali (64 ground targets destroyed, 5 helicopters), I loaded Mk83 for a run at the vehicle depot. Gadfly ruined my first set of bombs (rushed too much) but second set hit good for a partial success. Turned around due to SAMs and Flankers, ran back to Sukhumi for Hawk and F-15 coverage but Flankers were dead set to get me. Launched Alamos on me which I dodged, then one got busy dodging Hawks while the other began to tangle with a F-15. The F-15 fired two AIM-120B which missed, followed by a AIM-9M which also missed (wasn’t just you having a tough time with AMRAAM, @Wes), then the F-15 blew past him. Flanker went vertical and I followed him with an AIM-9M right as he stalled out, which hit him easily due to zooming up in burner, thus bringing my air-air total to 7 for the night (one Fulcrum from earlier). Is Harrier due for a nerf?

I was going to link to the skins used but I can’t seem to find them anymore, so they must’ve vanished.
