DCS 2.5.x Screenshots (2020)

An interesting concept…I assume you were passing it via voice/chat. Using the Viggen’s normal radar mode or the Reconnaissance mode?

Normal radar mode, just to see what would work. I haven’t spent much time with the Viggen’s radar and the objective was to just see how far out we could find some ships and how accurate a targeting solution we could get. As Wes’ missiles found the target, we’re assuming it worked. Main thing is that 120km max detection range might present some issues against certain targets, but it seemed to be accurate enough for our uses.

Headed out to break stuff with @Franze and @Wes. Ended up in a short but bloody fur ball while covering Wes as he launched his JSOWs.

Headed home -1. Franze had a mid air collision with a SD-10.

Dawn carrier landing.

I wanna go fast!

Ever get the feeling your being watched?

Waiting for his feature episode of Discovery’s Mayday.
What did the NTSB say?

Well I can say that I didn’t properly keep tabs on the hostiles. On turning cold, they were able to close into no escape range and thus I couldn’t evade the missile. I came close but I should have done more violent maneuvering at a minimum. I had too much faith in my first missile in assuming it would cause my target to turn cold when as soon as he evaded, he reengaged.

Ai knows when a missile is trashed, unlike us.

AI evidently know a lot of things it shouldn’t.

Flying lead on a section mid MiG-19s looking to jump a couple of SEAD F-4s.

My wingman calls a contact on the nose, over terrain at 50 km…that’s pretty good for a radar that only sees out to 12 km. Did he see him? No way - Pretty hazy with maybe 20 km vis…

I’m thinking my wingman is just plain psychic :astonished:

Yeah he’s part of the very successful Soviet paranormal programme. He sees into the beyond and Knows. Just don’t ever ever leave him alone with a goat. Is not pretty.

Which is why I don’t feel bad about using labels, preferably dot, when fighting the AI WVR. I can, and do, lose sight. The AI does not. At least with dot labels I have a fighting chance of re-acquiring them before they blast me out of the sky.

Me too. I am not an eagle-eyed 21 year old boy with cat reflexes and a neck like an owl. So I get to compensate for my oculus induced myopia with dot labels.

I knew I had seen him before! - in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. right?! …

I am of the same mind. A while back I did some back-of-the-envelope calculations based in what I could and couldn’t see of the F-22s in the pattern at Langley AFB - just over 2 Nm from my back yard - and based on the peel density of my monitor. It comes down to your monitor simply doesn’t have the fidelity at a certain distance. IMHO, the dots provide a level field with the AI.

Happy little chopper  well not really little, isn it?

Parkin’ it after my daily BFM exercise. Eagle rocks as a fighter. Just insane. All that power, all that lift. Almost as pointable as a hornet. Insane machine.

Which folder do I put it in? Mi-8MT or Mi-8MTV2 or something else? I am easily confused

C:\Users\You\Saved Games\DCS\Liveries\Mi-8MT

I edited the nations line in the description .lua to make it available to a bunch of 'em, so I can always fly a happy chopper, even if I’m spreading tons of hate on some hopeless freedom fighters.

Makes me think of FSX seeing the yellow, where we got this:

Gave @komemiute’s skin a try!

And it wouldn’t be complete without the associated wreck!
