Welcome to Mudspike @Pc2.

While we wait for Supercarrier, here’s an SC lite “primer” using the MOOSE Airboss mission. Airboss/Marshal comms and LSO grading. Understanding “See me at 10”… the Marshal stack, commence to IP.
LOL! Always a good tale from Ralfidude. “Stay on target, stay on target!”
Phwoar! That was beautiful
Awesome video!
Has anyone else noticed that the callsigns, - e.g. Slain, Chroma, Mica, etc. - are much cooler than RL call signs tend to be?
We had Opus (had a big nose), Squirt (was short), Flea (was really short), Tina (last name was Turner) and Rat Breath (no idea and didn’t really want to know). My C/S, “Hangar” was a combo of mispronouncing my last name and that I was a ground pounder, i.e. I worked in the hangar. I would have killed for Zeuf! Just say’n.
(…then there was the guy in another squadron who was BFD…abbreviation of “Boy From Deliverance”…ouch )
I just spit my coffee
Ha that made me cry laugh! Brilliant
Yeah that’s something nearly all movies get wrong. The pilots all have cool callsigns.
In real life the have callsigns like “Speedo” (for accidentally having the speed brakes deployed when he shouldn’t have), “mother” (because his last name is “tucker”), “kraut” (German ancestors), or anything else that is either referencing appearance, heritage, or (preferably embarassing) things they did or that happened to them. Often derogatory in nature.
I was shocked to learn that this is not always the case.
When Dave ”Bio” Baranek got his callsign, he got to request a name, that was approved…
