Tracks can be really finicky, with some quirks coming down to individual modules. Some things I’ve learned:
AI is still “alive” in replay tracks, so they can make different decisions than they did when you were actually flying; I suspect that if you select a lower skill setting, they have fewer programmed decisions and will replay more consistently
Starting the Hornet from the carrier will break the track, but starting from shore is okay…strangely starting the Harrier from an LHD or the Su-33 from the Kuz works okay.
Harrier tracks break if you drop LGBs or get hit by ground fire
Some modules are flat-out broken (Anton and Tomcat, especially)
Server track files are almost always good; Sometimes there’s position desync (usually with AI), but all the events are still played back properly, so the AI that get killed still get killed, and if you didn’t get hit you still don’t get hit
