Off the wall question… are those Nav modules worth having? Been a casual DCS flyer, mostly FC and the helo’s, but have every plane module… so with a new PC coming next month, thinking it’s time to really get into the series and start learning all those jets… the Nav’s needed? Thx.
It is by no means a necessity unless you want to do GPS navigation in one of the less fancy birds. There’s usually an alternative available such as doppler nav for the Mi-8, INS nav for the SA-342 and radio nav for the L-39. I had a few fun flights flying the L-39 with the hood down using exclusively the GPS, radio navigation and the instruments but I don’t do this often. It is more a case of want it rather than need it.
I got the one for the MI8 and never use it. I have used the GPS a lot more in xo11 and MSFS. Get it if it’s on sale and your prepared to put the time on to learn its uses then go for it ![]()

- To avoid these issues second player as Operator should join Mi-24P after its engines are running and weapons are rearmed.
