DCS 2.7 Discussion

Once I blasted out of Andersen, it was hella fast. It’s prettier than the NTTR too. Fight Club has a new venue boys!
Now all I have to do is click-click-click rebuild the fight club airquake mish for Marianas.

I tried a free flight with the Mi-24 over Guam, but only had 20-25 fps. Under VR, I started to feel sick within minutes. Not sure of how much utility this map will be for me.

Hopefully it will be like the others and receive optimization :+1:

I cant find Marianas on the dcs store or on dcs itself. Any idea where it is?

Module manager my dear

make sure to run the updater. You need 2.7.3. Then just go into the module manager and you will be prompted.

Moment I launched DCS after patching up, it asked to install.

I’m working on a little mish: You are a vanguard revolutionary who gets to defang the dragon of imperialism by striking at the B-52 flight line of Andersen Airbase from a cargo ship that’s passing nearby. Gotta get creative to get a hind going on that map

Thats the problem, on the dcs store on my phone. I’ll update when I get home

Fantastic! To be fair….The Airbase does have quite a few incredible static aircraft…some I’ve never seen before

**I don’t want to give or see any spoilers ** I’m going to explore each island low-n-slow in our choppers

Quick question for those who can figure it out(cause I can’t)…Is there room on the present map to add Okinawa… :face_with_monocle: :face_with_monocle: :face_with_monocle:

In 2D it’s smooth as silk. All details cranked up. Some places are a bit rough but I expect this map to get some extra detailing and adjustments as time goes.
All in all an absolute blast for the price

I was just staring at a mission I made a while ago that I would love to move to a different map thinking “why is there no trigger export option!?”

… unless there is and I don’t know about it…

New map is nice. Not much to it of course. FPS over the island the lowest for me of any map. Struck me as a good “benchmark” map; a lot of nutthin parts and a small high detailed portion. Speaking of which…

The shader mod’s I mention in another thread still work (5-20% increase in VR) but, alas, when the FPS are really low it’s not enough of a difference. I assume they’ll optimize this map at some point. Reminds me (as someone else just mentioned) of Syria with palm trees. That’s not bad though.

[EDIT: Not sure when they did this but the Black Sea map is looking really good now. Looks like a texture re-do].

whoa… WHOA!.. hold up… the Marianas map is FREE!?

how did I miss this fact…

Yup. Free.

~9.x Gig download.

Sorry fellas, no screens at the moment. The detailing on the map is incredible-down to the atomic bomb loading pits on (edit) Tinian and fire pits in backyards on Guam…behind homes with lattice porches. Truly a step up.

For me also it’s jittery in VR, I actually swapped over to pancake mode for a while doing low level tourism in the Huey. I built a few missions with jets that I’ll fly this weekend…I’ve been waiting for this one.

It will be nice to see my old home again. Surprised that the Mi24 trim wasn’t mentioned. I take that to mean that from their perspective it’s spot on.

I flew over Rota just briefly in a huey and got 56 FPS in vr, flying the F16 over Guam gave 30 to 40 FPS in vr. Will have to try the others later.
