Beautiful screens Clutch. I sure wish that ED would update the Charlie cockpit. It’s time.

@Clutch , I don’t remember but those skins you have; are they downloaded from the “users downloads” over at the main ED Website or are Japanese skins now included in the base game? Any idea?

That is what I was thinking, user files because the last time I looked in the mission editor, no Japanese skins were there. Thanks.

There are quite a few but they can be hard to dig up. I spotted this one because it was a recent paint done for the airshows here this summer and I follow flying_isoko’s Twitter, so I nabbed it shortly after he released it. FSZ has a lot of aggressor and anniversary skins, plus a couple standard squadrons. I have more standard squadrons in my collection but I can’t find them on the User Files any more

Having a lot of fun obviously with a mission I had created for the Mig-19P. The year is 1975 and Damascus wants us to poke Turkey Air Defense networks with an incursion into “disputed” border airspace. My flight and I are doing just that, despite being warned by Turkish Air Defense Controllers to turn around or be fired upon.

Heading towards the “disputed” border lands. We are flying upwards of 28,000 feet.

I do love the look of this fighter. It’s a primitive fighter designed a long time ago but it looks mean IMHO.

Turning towards the “Turkish No-Fly Zone”.

I give the signal to my flight via a white flare that we’ve crossed the border into the Turkish No-Fly Zone.

My flight and I are still up around 28,000 feet or about 8,000 meters and the Turkish GCI is telling us "turn around or be fired upon by their Hawk SAM Systems placed around the No-Fly Zone. Damascus didn’t give us any maps or intel as to where these things are placed. We have basically limited or more accurately no RWR capability in this fighter.

Syrian GCI informs us that Turkish Fighters have been scrambled north of us. We have a few minutes so I start getting my fighter ready for combat. Then, I notice down, very low at my 2 o’clock, a puff of explosion. None of my AI wingmen had said anything about a SAM launch.

I then noticed a SAM smoke trail on my 11 o’clock, followed a few seconds later my a missile heading right at me. No AI wingmen call outs, our limited RWRs only work if we are locked up from the rear hemisphere. I personally never get to see how the air battle went. LOL, I wish I had been able to react fast enough to capture this moment on video or screenshot but alas I was kind of shocked into in-action.

I’m really liking this mission. So many different things can happen because I put a lot of randomization in it. Flying a Fighter with no Chaff or Flares (other than signal flares) and no proper RWR is extremely challenging to say the least. Still, what fun. DCS World, my favorite computer game.

Just another variation of the mission in terms of when the flight takes place. I’ve been experimenting with atmospheric look and temperatures affecting flight. This time not much happened and we stayed on our side of the border. Night time landing was interesting. Need to practice more on my instrument flying skills.

Looking forward to IndiaFoxEcho’s MB-339. Got me in the mood to fly the C-101CC which I haven’t flown in a very long time and I know there have been changes, improvements to flight model among many other things. And wow, the flight model itself really does feel different than what I remember.

Tooling around in a navigation practice mission I had made a while ago for the Syria map. Practicing using VOR-DME navigation, TACAN navigation in weather where the clouds obscure visual references.

Flew out of King Hussein Air Academy.

Definitely a busy cockpit in the C-101CC to work within.

Beautiful view up around 15,000 feet.

Having some fun down low in the weeds…or should I say “brush.”

Back at King Hussein Academy College. Another flight of pilots in training just took off.

Quick 30min Tomcat flight to make sure my CASE I skills weren’t gone. Low at the ramp, hook skipped over the 1-wire and snagged the 2 but otherwise “OK.”
