Many thanks. Finding that was on the ToDo list.
Alright!!! OpenXR Fixed!!! Thank You ED
Open Beta
Interesting.
Alright!!! OpenXR Fixed!!! Thank You ED
Doing a little happy dance, GO ED!!!
So to confirm (canât find this in a search, the manual, or the support wiki-like thing), from a forum post the command line is:
My desktop shortcut =
DCS.exe --force_enable_vr --force_OpenXR
Think the first one is optional however if youâve checked the VR box on the VR page.
ED add new Caucasus map screenshots:
are they updating the black sea map again !!!
Looks like they are showcasing the reintroduction of fog and mist. Nothing in the newsletter however about thisâŚ
On the other hand, they say theyâll be looking at long standing issues with the hip, huey and F-5! Hooray!
I wish I could use my openXR toolkit thingamibob again. I had it tweaked to perfection, and now I am having less than stellar VR performance. Ah well, Multicore in Two Weeks⢠right?
I just d/lâd todays update but only got so far as running it in VR to the main screen (it worked). But as of yesterday I was able to get oXR toolkit to work, on that broken OXR reprojection version.
Yeah, getting the OXR toolkit menu is one thing. Getting the thing not to crash on anything but default settings is another.
So, now that there is more or less a choice to pick the VR runtime that DCS uses at launch, whatâs the general consensus, if thatâs possible, on which is preferred? I was tinkering with it at lunchtime, and think that Iâm preferring OpenXR over the native Oculus support. Of course since Meta replaces itâs version of the OpenXR runtime, is that a moot question for Oculus users? The OpenXR ToolKit seems to know the difference.
Ya knowâŚreplace all those trees with, err, jungle trees, and you have Vietnam? Or something close. Just sayin.
They already have the palm tree assets from the mariana map
Unfortunately, for Varjo Aero VR users, DCS calls for the quadruple view, used by the Varjo XR-3.
So, the solution is still to force steam VR and use Open Composite.
Mbucchia, who wrote the OpenXR toolkit, has shown ED the error of their ways, and Iâm guessing a fix is underway.
Edit: AaaandâŚACTION!
To add insult to the performance injuryâŚI now have an undesired binding of numpad 5 = recenter VR headset. This binding doesnât show up in the binding UI.
I use my numpad as a UFCâŚso this is literally driving me nuts.
OpenXR without motion reprojection is unplayable for me. I had it running really well before the last two hotifxes. Bummer.
Back to SteamVR I suppose.
Hmmm. I havenât use SteamVR in over a year - it kept crashing, randomly. Not sure I want to go there again - UNLESS it runs faster, without crashing
@jross I feel your pain and am kind of in the same boat.
I cope by telling myself that SteamVR is better than no VR⌠just
should be SHIFT+F5
